Just saw this chronic.
And that's why I'm only here. Peace and harmony.
Your brain doesn't hurt after posting lol
How are you?
Not too bad, really! It's all up and down but lately I've been suppressing the down and have had more up. Staying busy around the house... getting lots of projects done and taking care of my 83 year old mother. And my dogs...

Trying to do that whole peace and harmony thing... less paying attention to political crap, for sure... less watching the "news".......avoidance of anything that might turn into an argument... unliking a bunch of pages on Facebook..... yadda yadda.. It's just not healthy being pissed off and stressed about things.

Yeah, I'm getting my fill.. it just seems to be more prevalent these days. It's sort of like Jon Stewart.. just tired of all the insande, highly idiotic, ignorant BS. Trying to get back to blissful ignorance. It pays to stay informed but placating bigots and ignoramuses by listening to their insane drivel doesn't seem to accomplish a damn thing.... getting upset over it... isn't going to help matters, and, sadly, none of these people will change their mind no matter how I react to the lameness.... so.... time fold up the cards, throw in the towel, and re-focus to other things.

Watching the news, for instance.. I noticed myself going from being in a good mood to a bad mood... and the only factor is that I was watching the news and getting pissed off at the talking heads. I would start getting pissy and cursing at the TV, hollering at these idiots and next thing ya know I'm in a trashed out, lousy, negative mood... I also noticed that when I keep that crap off my TV these nosedives in mood don't happen nearly as often. It's totally pointless, I finally gathered, to subject myself to this crap. Life shortening anger and stress.... for what? If it made a hill of beans of difference it might be different but getting all worked up and stressed out and having it not do any good is just a colossal waste of time. Re-doubling of things like video games, watching TV other than news (comedy central is good, laughing is always nice for the ol' disposition).... things like documentary shows and stuff about aliens... etc... just gotta stay away from all the spinning heads.

I 'will' remember.

Yup, wissa, exhausting.

Like you say, C, I also fall prey to the effects of negative environments, learning to frequently monitor self to see if this/that is beneficial or infecting. I mean the ills of the world need to have light shined on them for sure but I am forever trying to understand the 'why' of it  since actively being negative/mean/unkind/etc. just doesn't compute to me. Don't get me wrong, I am learned enough to 'intellectually' understand the reasons and urges that bring humans to act in neg/mean/unkind/etc. ways. LOLOL But I am definitely in an ongoing struggle to maintain Red Alert Shields Up against the onslaught. Like take day before yesterday in my own neck of the woods..................... LOL

Jon Stewart and John Oliver are my favorite sources for news! They express my own befuddlement and confoundment (<I know, not a word> with abandon for me!......... and they do so with humor and wit that I admire would love to come naturally to me. LOLOL Until then.....................

Yup, bay-bee, take care of You. You seem to have found a good recipe to do this goin' on!!
I will remember.

Thanks.. it seems to be working for the most part. My only problems are when I slip up and ignore my own advice and start looking at the news again or whatever... comments sections on Facebook about politics... etc.

I've been doing it less and less but the temptation to look at the train wreck is there and sometimes I give in. But.... getting better... ;) :D

So there's still unfriendliness going on in the Trek Universe? And Greetings btw. :)
Well, I wouldn't say that... I'd say....... a clash of posting styles? No real conflicts I just don't like being followed around everywhere having everything I say picked apart and dragged into circular semantics arguments having nearly nothing to do with the actual topic. It just got to the point where posting wasn't fun any more due to an overwhelming fear of having these problems occur. When it happens time and time again it just gets old and rather than make a fuss or argue or get nasty I just left. :D

But, truth be told.... things have been nothing but peace and harmony throughout the Trek MB world (as far as I know). All the old "usual suspects" are seemingly off doing other things and I haven't so much as witnessed a true heated debate in so long that it almost seems odd. The days of old with hostilities and conspiracy theories and all the rest of the stupid shit are long gone as far as I'm concerned and I don't see any evidence of any of it carrying on into the recent history of the various Trek boards.

What's up, homie?!?!?!?!
Well It is great to hear that there's peace in the MB world. The last time i were around there was quite a bit of controversy. But then again I found plenty of that on Facebook as well. Your posts on Facebook are funny as hell though. :violet:

See that is exactly what I was feeling. The last time I felt that way was when I started watching Trek, to get away from all the real life BS.

 Thanks, bud! Facebook is a source of great fun for me... most of the time. :D

And yeah the MB world is much improved these days as far as atmosphere goes. It seems a lot of folks have fallen off the radar and message boards on the whole aren't as popular as they once were but that's probably part of the reason why there is less BS going around.
