You've heard about how the "Back to the Future" trilogy travels to the year 2015, and you've read countless lists of what the movie got right and wrong about the future.

Now thanks to Nike, there will be one more thing that the movie series gets right. The famous Nike high-tops worn by Marty McFly/Michael J. Fox in "Back to the Future 2" will come to life in a 2015 release -- with the Power Laces.

Nike innovation chief Tinker Hatfield confirmed this news while speaking at a trade show Tuesday in Long Beach, California, according to a report by Nice Kicks.

basically you push a patch on the shoe & the laces tighten instead of being tied.

there's clips on youtube that show it better than i described.

Am waiting for self-drying clothes to come out (also seen in Back to the Future), though umbrella manufacturers might complain !! :p

You're still never getting flying cars. Know why?

Most people can barely manage merge & yield. Ain't no way anybody's letting them flirt with pitch & yaw. Ain't no fenderbenders at 2000 ft, just nitwit suburbanites plummeting from the sky because they were checking their texts.

Leave the flying to the pilots

Yeah true, and breaking down at 1000 feet or so could cause problems. Then again, if all flight controls were computerised, then the drivers' flying ability wouldn't be an issue. Just out of interest, we know the cops look down on drink-driving (or DUI), so be interesting to see how they'd deal with drunk-flying (or FUI) !!
