Superhero movies changed a lot between Batman (1989) and Iron Man (2008), but one thing has remained the same: Those very uncomfortable costumes. In this clip from Hollywood Sessions: Lead Actor, Michael Keaton (who parodied his Batman success in this year’s Birdman) discusses superhero suits with Robert Downey Jr., who will reprise his role as Iron Man in 2015’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron. “What nobody understands either, is that you were the guinea pig for the [first version] of all of those suits – which by the way, twenty years later, I’m told only got infinitesimally more manageable and comfortable,” Downey tells Keaton during the roundtable (note: this clip contains some NSFW language).

Live long and prosper.....!!

Superhero's and their costumes......hmm, I have a problem with that. I mean, if you saw somebody walking down the street dressed in a costume, would you think they were a superhero or an escapee from the local asylum ??

Then again, if you DID have super powers, would you really want people to know about it, knowing that the govt would 'spirit' you away to some secret research facility to find out how those powers worked, and how they could be used for the govts own purposes, either good or bad ??

I think that if a person really did have superpowers of some kind, they'd want to keep a low profile and only use those powers when and if it was really necessary, like if they and their family were in some kind of danger !!

But of course human nature being what it is, such a person would feel special about having those powers, and would more than likely want the world to know about it, and having a silly costume would help them achieve that !!
R.I.P. Gummy, we'll miss you bro

To be fair, RDJ doesn't say much about the Ironman suit, because.... let's face it, he doesn't spend much time in one. There may be a handful of still moments with the mask or helmet off, & he is placed in a suit very briefly, & if they do toss in a movement, I suspect that he's digitally placed into the computer graphic

The guys I feel bad for are the ones that still wear a leotard when they play Spiderman. They may dress it up a bit, but it's still a skin tight suit of some kind when it's actually them wearing it. Even the Man of Steel costume is more suit than the modern Spidey suit

like 99.44% of the time it's CGI. (i've seen one picture of him in a suit without the helmet) other times they have him wear some sort of plastic thing on his head & shoulders. probably so he could hold himself like he is in the suit.
if you see the bloopers or deleted scenes you'll see the thing i mean.
