I just joined this weekend and I am looking forward to talking Trek with fellow fans. I used to be on Star Trek.com for years and now I have been abandoned. Kang |

Welcome! Welcome! Welcome! I luv talking Trek! All Trek, all the time. Especially the stories, messages, meanings. But with the advent of the new technology that began with our movie Nemesis I've just fallen in love with all the new technology our shows are now being filmed with too. I am Old Old Trek, being in front of the TV watching it that first night in September of 1966, and I am nuTrek to the max too! I see much Old Trek in nuTrek and it excites me for our future. I have eventually embraced all the series, even when it took me time to adjust to a couple of them. Voyager is my personal collective, second in my heart only to original Star Trek because Voyager seems closest to what I was drawn to in our original series. But while it aired TNG was 'my' show. The nuStar Trek and Into Darkness are my most re-watched of our movies though I do watch all of them at least once a year, and during the Western World's Holiday Season I devote myself to All Things StarTrek. Though Star Trek The Motion Picture is dearest to my heart of hearts. LOL. I love it absolutely and unabashedly emotionally. I love our Prime Actors. They are my icons, my dearly loved and respected. And I am thrilled by and embrace our nuTrek casting, grateful that it can all continue for me. My wish is that StarTrek continues. But if it doesn't I have all my DVDs and 700+ shows. I'm game for new original ST TV series and I'm game for re-casting and re-presenting our old TV series. Even total rebooting. Just give me characters I bond with, stories with embedded real world relatable ethics and sociological discussions, and spaceships and I'm happy....or eventually adapt. ![]() Any movies or episodes that didn't match my tastes or wasn't what I wanted or liked I just ignore. There are so many others for me to take joy in that I don't waste my life with ST episodes/movies that weren't to my liking. I'm in it for the joy, for the enjoyment, for the fun, for the sociological aspect. I want want want to hear what other people liked about any movies or episodes though my eyes will glaze over and I will fade away when a discussion is only represented by what was disliked and what was 'wrong' with a character, movie, episode, writer, director, etc. I'm always interested in what energized anybody about a movie or series or episode or character, etc. Even, no, especially, when it doesn't match my own taste. Many is the episode, movie, series, character that I got a much better perspective about by listening to someone who liked it much better than I originally did. I grew to love Enterprise from listening to the Enterprise people over at st.com talk about how they enjoyed it. It had actually faded from my attention until I started listening to them. I find minutea fun but only fun, never important. I try to always see what the writer/producer/director/actor 'intent' was, for that is of greater interest to me than whether they did everything exactly right, or whether it was something that I would have done had I been at the helm. (I find that if I have expectations for what I want I can miss what really is there.) So I take what comes. If I don't like it I don't care. I just keep up hope that eventually somebody else will make another one and do all the work for me so all I have to do is watch. ![]() Trek is what I love, and I can talk endlessly about what was good about any/all of it! Welcome, Kang! Please do come here and talk Trek!!!!!!!!! |

Once Ixalla was ready, Tathrelle cornered her. “Before we leave for work, I just want to tell you, I’m sorry. I guess I sort of shut down last night. I know you were in pain and I wasn’t too terribly supportive.” There was a wall covering in the main part of their chamber, something that Tathrelle hadn’t noticed before. She stared at it for a second and then shook her head. Outside, a disembodied voice announced from a hidden speaker, “It is time to travel to all daytime places of employment. Transportation sleighs are available and ready. Citizens are encouraged to thank the sleigh drivers at the end of a successful transport. The government recommends haste, and requests that all pregnant persons be given preference for seating in their designated areas.” A little distracted, Ixalla just asked, “Pain?” Untrustworthy - by me, actually. It's for sale on Amazon - Yeah, I'm a published author jespah My author page on Facebook Author of Untrustworthy I blog about Startrek fanfiction..Honk if you love silence. | |
