New CBS-TV series “NCIS: New Orleans” premieres the 23rd. It stars Scott Bakula.

“And tell people the name’s pronounced ‘Backyula’ not ‘Bakoola.’ It’s Czech and Bohemian, but nobody knows what’s Bohemian. My whole life it’s mispronounced. Years ago I did a CBS audition. I was nervous. They introduced me as ‘Scott Bakoola.’ Not a good sign. I also didn’t get the show.

more at "page six"

i think we here knew that. at least i did.

a set visit by the insider

the woman host said scott is getting better with age.
but then she said he has kind of a george cloney thing going on.
not a GC fan so i'm not thrilled with the comparison.

Watched it. Enjoyed it.
me too. will watch again.

but how often will they have NCIS people as guest-stars?
and is it to help to get people to watch or what?

BTW i suspected the foreman/supervisor right away.
and i find it hard to believe he was chewing on ice with a knocked-out tooth.
when i had teeth removed, i didn't want to chew on anything harder than peanut putter.

17 million people watched the first episode

it's the highest rated new show of the year, so far
Quote:

The battle for the eyeballs has begun: Fall TV is officially upon us. As the major broadcast networks roll out their new offerings, everybody is watching the Nielsen numbers. There have been some big hits and misses already, but the true test will be whether viewers stick around. One lesson learned so far: Don't mess with NCIS.

The latest spinoff of the hit franchise, NCIS: New Orleans, is the highest-rated new show yet with 17.1 million viewers, according to Nielsen's overnight ratings. It nabbed a 2.5 rating in the key 18-49 demographic. Scott Bakula and CCH Pounder star in the latest NCIS series. The NCIS mothership show was its lead-in with 18 million viewers.

i hope this keeps up for a few years :fingerscrossed:

Seventeen million viewers can't be wrong. At least that many tuned in Tuesday night to see Scott Bakula make his debut as Dwayne "King" Pride, the special agent in charge over at CBS's burgeoning hit, NCIS: New Orleans.

While most fans remember that Bakula played Dr. Sam Beckett in the cult sci-fi series Quantum Leap for four years, what else is there to know about the attractive 59-year-old actor? A lot, actually. Here are five of them:

read all 5 here

i knew all of those.

and i thought he was in playgirl twice. or am i imagining that?
i just can't get the right combo of words for google to give me an answer other than he was on the cover in 1995. so that might be the answer.

i suspected that doctor right off the bat.

i'm surprised on one mentioned storyvillle as part of NOLA history.
but i supposed mentioning a legalized red-light district wouldn't go over well during prime-time.
