Live long and prosper.....!!

Yeah rewinding VHS videos was always a bind, that's one of the things I like about dvd's !!

As you may know I'm doing a Voyager rewatch - 4 eps per disc, that's around 3 hrs of viewing, so 2 or 3 discs per day and I guess you could say I'm mainlining Trek, seems like it sometimes !!

Me too. Abt 20 or so. The theatrical release of Blade Runner is one of them. I have twice donated it and twice picked it out of the donation before leaving.

Back in the day when it was first released on the first movie cable channel to exist I have been known to watch it seven or eight times in a week for a couple of months. Have been known to drive two hours to see it in a theater in limited re-release. It is my most rewatched film EVer.

I bet Blade Runner is the forerunner of my binging proclivity!
I will remember.

-Food is prepared.
-Libations are chilling (except the Anglo-phile beer drinkers in the group who drink it warm. Gag)
-The gi-normous tv is set for Netflix.
-Blankets and pillows are on the couch for snuggling down while we wake up watching the first episode or two. The teenagers will be back by 2:45/3:00 and they will pile in too. At least every now and then.

We thought we would be three but it looks like another couple may be joining us because they busted us slipping a homemade Valentine card in their door. LOLOL

We made all these silly (as in not a polished project at all) Valentine cards and walked the block putting them in the doors of our friends, then drove to several other friends' homes and did the same. With description of our new adaptation of the V-Day traditions and casual invite to stop by our Open House V-Day Netflix binge.

Big silly fun for us!!!! We were only caught once but they may be joining us for part of the day! Yay!

IT'S ON!! NETFLIX JUST UPLOADED IT! (midnight PST)

Must go to sleep. Must go to sleep.

Nite all. Happy V-Day!!!!
I will remember.

Dinner for two at a little place I know (not our usual place), that does a Valentine Special menu, and is nicely romantic !!

Wherever you are, and whoever you're with, enjoy !!

^^^ That show 'never' worked for me. I even get annoyed just going past it when I channel surf. I like the actors, I like the characters, I like the sets, ......and the show itself just makes me grind my teeth.
:idon'tknow:

It's working for lots of people 'cause it stays popular and has reruns on so many channels, but for me? It is severely repellent.

Sheer perfection in the example of entertainment and diversity of response to the exact same thing.

House of Cards binge proceeding beyond expectations.

I 'did' manage to NOT start watching it the minute Netfilx uploaded it. Yay!!!! So I did sleep. Yay!!!

We're on a break in the binge right now. Walking the neighborhood (good weather), answering texts that have been ignored for hours, giving the kids focused personal attention, 'necessary' breaks, making phone calls, checking email, etc etc.

I've walked back to my apartment (1 1/2 blocks) to stretch my legs and do some personal things.

We'll return to the binge at 7:00pm. Both kids are spending the night away and leaving just after dinner.

We started, if you can imagine, just before 10am. All three of us were MOTIVATED and the kid were off to school. I was thinking we should have had a camera on us while we watched, all in our blankies and stretched out on the couch, drinking copious amounts of coffee. We were doing a lot of exclaiming and jumping and other wise expressing ourselves as the episodes rolled on!

One of our Valentine Card recipient friends stopped by on her lunch hour and watched some of the episode we were on and said she and her significant other would pick up some more jugs of local brewery beer and join us after work to binge with us.

Two more Valentine Card recipients came over after work. One brought a big pot of slow cooker beans and a pan of cornbread for everyone's supper!!! Both will be staying for the remainder of the binge.

Am on my way back over now. Netflix, you have created an awesome Valentine Day!!!!! Fun fun fun!
I will remember.

Having the tv on while I do something else, such as posting here for example. Not just background noise, I do watch it too, but can't say that I'm rapt (giving it my full attention). But that can be classed as 'binge watching', right ??

I 'will' remember.

We finished House of Cards just after 3am this morning.

It was an especially fun party that seemed to ebb and flow with people coming/going watching the shows/meandering around the 'party'.

The home that was hosting is the house of artists so is 'littered' (crammed pack full) with gluie sparklie stringie paperie paints paper and just general stuff.

What evolved over the evening is the drop-bys started crafting Valentines like the three of us had done the night before. This began with the kids who came home from school and made some for the three + adults who were there before the kids left for the evening.

The newly arriving adults caught the homemade Valentines bug, making and giving them out to all people there and popping in and out.

Great fun.

So we had the six foot couch that had three and sometimes up to six people watching HOC, making various Valentines, eating various foods, wandering around the now sort of actual party that had begun, drinking various libations.

As usual we became a noisy bunch, which didn't bother the episode watchers because by now everything was just festive. After all HOC 'is' available for rewatching and paying close attention whenever we want. LOL

All but the original three bingers had moved on by 11:30pm or so and 'we' were once again couched and blanketed, dutifully gasping in places that needed gasps, talking to the TV characters, guessing what was coming, clapping when someone that wasn't liked got his/her comeuppance. With grabbing of hearts and getting misty when good characters were treated badly.

The whole thing was an unexpected delight in so many ways, most being unexpected like the valentines the night before, the people dropping in, supper brought in, and more stuff I'm not remembering.

With vows of "We have to do a binge watch next Valentine Day too!!!!

A total success!

:joy:
I will remember.
