I'm firmly of the opinion that if Halloween has to be celebrated at all, the costumes should be horror themed

I agree with that with adults, but children shouldn't be scaring themselves.

I can accept 'Mild Horror', like they have in film ratings. Dressing as The Mummy or David Gest or something moderately creepy like that

I'm not bound to horror themes on Halloween. I much prefer creativity

me too.

the "horror" aspect of halloween often goes too far IMHO.

Those dog faced kids on #23 are major creep factor, and also the big faced ones on #43. They should be in a David Lynch short film from the 70s

more costumes. These one supposedly "offensive"

I find the need for all female costumes to be slutty a little offensive, but not necessarily any of these offensive. I think the Miley cyrus what's his face one is kinda funny. And Iv'e been a hobo before. But it was in the 70's when no one got offended.

i don't get why female costumes need to be slutty.
there's this site that promotes interesting, non-slutty costumes for females.

Nevertheless. None of that crap offends me. People need to chill. It's Halloween. Pushing the envelope is par for the course

One Halloween, back when I had a beard & long hair, and was nearly 280lbs, I went to a college party as Fat Elvis Christ, complete with a white silky sequined robe, a crown of thorns, big honking Elvis sunglasses, & a fake gold necklace that said "The King" on it. I kept blessing the booze & once I was drunk enough, I started asking the women if they were virgins. Quite possibly the most obnoxiously offensive I've ever been in my life, and still, people thought it was hilarious

Frankly, people dressing their 7 year old up like Dexter the serial killer, or Heisenberg the meth kingpin is a much bigger concern than a grown woman in a slutty nun costume could ever be

i'm not offended by "slutty" women's costumes exactly
(although as a straight woman i'm not thrilled with the T&A)
it's just that there seems to be limited options for women's
costumes at hallowen. either it's nun, princess, fairy or something "naughty"

Sounds like an opening for a business opportunity. Create a cool non-slutty costume for a woman, have it manufactured in numbers, then sell it to costumiers. Might want to check the size of your potential market first, so you have an idea of the sort of numbers for manufacture !!

Bah, I don't buy that. Perhaps prefab costuming, but frankly, prefab costuming is pretty limited in general. The limits of a Halloween costume are only relative to the limits of one's imagination. There's any number of female superheroes/comic characters. You want to see creative female costuming, check out some of those Cosplay chicks. Hell, a woman's costume doesn't even need to be gender specific. Dress up like Spiderman. It's Halloween. Do wtf you want.

Yeah, after Halloween has to be taken into consideration. Your boss probably wouldn't appreciate it if a witch turned up for work !! :p
