But then again, I think the kids in the country/rural areas know more about the past then city kids do. Now anyway.

I dunno, some things get forgotten, others are remembered. People still know who Johnny Cash was. Kids still watch Grease and know the songs.
Johnny Cash never went out of style. He's released a box set & two new albums since his death 10 years ago, the last of which was 2010

I dunno though... maybe I'm overreacting

Live long and prosper.....!!

I think it's safe to say that Johnny Cash will never go out of fashion, just like the Beatles (different music I know, but the fame's the same) !!

The Captain's back...

Something I noted to a coworker the other day, I can usually tell how old someone is by their handwriting. I think that speaks to a generational shift as well.

I work with a guy who's several years younger. I give him shit for having "bitch" hand-writing.

Seriously, though, he goes against convention. If I saw his handwriting out of context, I would have sworn it was someone from my Grandmother's generation. (c. 1920). I get what you're saying though.

I try to write cursive when I can. However, because of my job, military habits and the sheer volume of how much I have to write (not much really but still too much), I usually print in all caps or mix cursive with printing like my popu.

Is there a way to do it without a scanner? My handwriting is an interesting development, being a lefty & having grown up in an era where public school teachers had to accept left handed students, but didn't know how to teach them proper writing. I was pretty much left to fen for myself

Lol do you write upside down like many of us? & get a black hand regardless?

What's interesting is that I'm old enough that it was new to them. Only 5 or 10 years earlier they'd just whack your hand until you wrote with the other one, which is what happened to both my older brother & my dad before him

They could no longer do that with me, & that's about the only thing that would have stopped me. The look of frustration & exasperation on those teacher's faces was priceless. I could tell they just wanted to whack me, but couldn't, & just gave up, except for an occasional note about mixing upper & lower case

I think I can probably just take a photo of my writing, for the other thread. That might do
