Yes, the USA with the highest prison population in the world, full of peaceful people that committed crimes, that never actually harmed another human being.

Land O' the Free, my ass.

Yeah, ridiculous, isn't it?

It's so simple... and so logical.. the problem is, busting people is a HUGE source of revenue for law enforcement agencies and by proxy local and other governments. Those bastards are greedy. They know damn well the same things we do, they just have to justify keeping it criminal because... greed... money.. they don't want to break an already great system (for THEM, mind you) that keeps their pockets lined in more ways than one.

It's greed, pure and simple. (and laziness.... it's super easy to bust some guy with a joint.... solving actual crimes involves WORK and effort... can't have none of that, now can we)

Exactly.

Our justice system is an industry. The scariest part is the private prisons. It's been revealed time and again that judges work hand in hand with private prison owners to keep them stocked with prisoners so that the government money keeps coming.

The war on drugs is probably the greatest travesty against the American people, second only to the new War on Terror. Both are being bastardized into government welfare programs. People spend whole careers justifying their jobs through the use of coercion, violence and kidnapping peaceful and innocent people.

On target there, bud.

You nailed it.

Gas, guns and booze - well that's an intelligent combination, low crime rate in that area, hmm ??
Typically, areas with the least gun laws, in the USA, have the lowest crime rates.
Yeah, I'm betting if it was out west there near the Grand Canyon, that there isn't much crime at all. Plus, even though I don't support the notion that the only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is with a good guy with a gun, who apparently can shoot faster & better, because that's just dumb, it's still hard to ignore the reality that criminals committing gun crimes are far less likely to commit them against people they suspect are carrying a gun...... especially the liquored up ones.

you'd be surprised at the stupid people out there.

there's a guy who attempted to hold up a gun shop
after walking past a police car parked in front (the cop was having coffee with the owner)

alcohol is kills more people.. and they sell it cold and ready to go at the gas station... seriously that stuff should not be sold cold.. you should have to take it home and warm it up.. but that's a different poll
Not sold cold? Are you kidding? We have places around town where you can come & go all night long, slap down money & it pours ice cold from taps like water from a faucet. Places where it's stocked like groceries in a supermarket the size of a warehouse, isle upon isle of alcohol, so high in some cases that you have to get an employee to bring a ladder to get it down for you. Who are we kidding? This is the home of the drive through liquor store. The inventors of drinking beer through a funnel. An industry so big, that they are the primary sponsors of all our major sporting events. We get shit faced & watch athletes, who we harangue and call cheats or criminals for using drugs
restaurants and bars do not let you leave the building with a cold drink...

and I dont think gas stations and grocery stores should be able too either.

They let you leave with it inside you, & DUI begins well before any bartender is going to know to cut you off. I just don't think the coldness is a factor that matters much, given that the most potent intoxicating beverages can be bought at a store & need not be refrigerated at all. Pop the top & belt some vodka & what's the difference? It would just be more ineffectual legislation, imho

.there is no use trying to logic me out of this one Mojo... :p it just feels wrong to me and I think its dumb. I think you should have to buy it warm at gas stations and grocery stores.

you are probably right, and i've tried to think about it in the perspective you have laid before me.. but I just cant get around it... but I do realise that Im not the leading authority and am most likely in the wrong lol

most people walk into convenience stores buy a drink and are drinking before they get out of the door... I can buy one can of cold beer... its just odd to me

Now THAT should be illegal, & probably is. Drinking in an establishment that has no license to serve alcohol for onsite consumption is not legal to my knowledge, nor is it legal to be drinking it in a parking lot of such a place, or in a vehicle, & I'm on board with that
