I can't think of one singular reason why it should be illegal while alcohol is not. You know WFT the best thing a democratic government of a free land could do is? Not enforce lifestyle choices. Freedom means never having to say "Mind your own damn business. I'll do whatever the hell I want to myself" |

Legalize it. Law enforcement can focus on true crime. Prisons can actually house criminals. Good folks won't have their lives thrown into turmoil for getting caught with $3 worth of weed. Billions of other reasons. Etc. |

Yes, the USA with the highest prison population in the world, full of peaceful people that committed crimes, that never actually harmed another human being. Land O' the Free, my ass. |

Legalise it, but then the govt will immediately slap a huge tax on it (to make up for the money they lose cos they can't import it illegally anymore - remember the movie Air America ??) |

It's one of those things, like gay marriage, where more and more people are realising that there are no rational arguments against it and several for good arguments for allowing it |

Legalize it. I mean, there are real medical reasons why people use it. |

Yeah, ridiculous, isn't it? It's so simple... and so logical.. the problem is, busting people is a HUGE source of revenue for law enforcement agencies and by proxy local and other governments. Those bastards are greedy. They know damn well the same things we do, they just have to justify keeping it criminal because... greed... money.. they don't want to break an already great system (for THEM, mind you) that keeps their pockets lined in more ways than one. It's greed, pure and simple. (and laziness.... it's super easy to bust some guy with a joint.... solving actual crimes involves WORK and effort... can't have none of that, now can we) |

Exactly. Our justice system is an industry. The scariest part is the private prisons. It's been revealed time and again that judges work hand in hand with private prison owners to keep them stocked with prisoners so that the government money keeps coming. The war on drugs is probably the greatest travesty against the American people, second only to the new War on Terror. Both are being bastardized into government welfare programs. People spend whole careers justifying their jobs through the use of coercion, violence and kidnapping peaceful and innocent people. |

alcohol is kills more people.. and they sell it cold and ready to go at the gas station... seriously that stuff should not be sold cold.. you should have to take it home and warm it up.. but that's a different poll.. I think they should definitely change the rules on marijuana... |

Not sold cold? Are you kidding? We have places around town where you can come & go all night long, slap down money & it pours ice cold from taps like water from a faucet. Places where it's stocked like groceries in a supermarket the size of a warehouse, isle upon isle of alcohol, so high in some cases that you have to get an employee to bring a ladder to get it down for you. Who are we kidding? This is the home of the drive through liquor store. The inventors of drinking beer through a funnel. An industry so big, that they are the primary sponsors of all our major sporting events. We get shit faced & watch athletes, who we harangue and call cheats or criminals for using drugs

I have two dedicated glass steins in my freezer just for beer. Beer is meant to be ice cold. Only way to have it. |

Years ago a friend of mine and I drove to the Grand Canyon. We stopped at a gas station in this tiny town that was probably on the arizona side of the nevada/ arizona side of the border. We walked into the gas station and stopped cold. One side of the gas station was booze, the other side was guns. In the middle was a rack of doritos. crazy ass country.

Used to see lots of porn at gas stations. Not so much anymore.... Even before the internets became popular.

Typically, areas with the least gun laws, in the USA, have the lowest crime rates. |

Oh, I didn't know that !! Still have to wonder though, at whichever authority it was that thought it would be a good idea to allow a gas station to sell guns and booze !! And I thought that "The Purge" was just a movie, a work of fiction.....!! |
