Sheepdog trials on television
They're on Horse & Country tv from time to time :)
What's that on Freeview? Is it before or after the channel that only plays Nigerian soap operas?

It's only on Sky at the moment.

I have both of these.

We see so little snow here, that it's a waste of money to go buy snow tires and the one or two days a year that there's actual snow on the ground, we just chain up, if we even go outside.

That's the one upside to the PNW.

I think they've been outlawed here, because they rip up the roads. Granted, we see feet upon feet of snow....... on the flipside ANE :p

And you guys know how to deal with snow. Plow, with big huge plowing machines and lay down salt and sand.

We, use small trucks. Keep the plow off the pavement about an inch and then compact the snow down to ice. Sand only, because salt gets into the ocean! WTF.

We don't use no stinking sand here. That would do nothing. Write a letter to your government officials explaining that there's already salt in the ocean

It ain't a snow pile unless there's chunks of dirt salt & pavement in it .lol

Environmentalism is extreme here on the west coast. Have of all the useable property is locked up in retention ponds over here. Literally, any new building must have an accompanying retention pond in order to filter any run off. There's places where humans aren't even allowed to walk here because it's disruptive to the ecosystem, not that there's one acre of an endangered plant, or the mating location of some kind of nearly extinct bird, just that it's generally disruptive.

I could go on and on, but I'll not.

We used to sand in Plattsburgh.

One thing I don't see, though, is rusty cars. Doesn't happen.

Yeah, rusty cars is the one draw back. I imagine we still use it more than the rest of N.Y. because sand is cheaper, unless you live where I do. This town is a salt spring. It was it's prime industry for like 200 years

i don't know how to describe it, but
saltines (soda crackers) come in a
box with four wrapped rows of crackers.
they had this twist tie thing (but shorter, thicker
& with 2 pieces of wire) to hold the package closed
after opening. they got rid of those.
now it's harder to keep the package closed, they go bad
sooner and you have to buy replacements. it's a conspiracy. :wissa:
