My husband and I will be running the last mile on April 27th, at 2 pm. This is Kenmore Square to Copley Square. It will also be a couple of hours after we have run a 5K. I will most likely wear blue.
Once Ixalla was ready, Tathrelle cornered her. “Before we leave for work, I just want to tell you, I’m sorry. I guess I sort of shut down last night. I know you were in pain and I wasn’t too terribly supportive.” There was a wall covering in the main part of their chamber, something that Tathrelle hadn’t noticed before. She stared at it for a second and then shook her head.

Outside, a disembodied voice announced from a hidden speaker, “It is time to travel to all daytime places of employment. Transportation sleighs are available and ready. Citizens are encouraged to thank the sleigh drivers at the end of a successful transport. The government recommends haste, and requests that all pregnant persons be given preference for seating in their designated areas.”

A little distracted, Ixalla just asked, “Pain?”

The boston marathon is something that touches almost everyone. You don't have to go far in north america to find someone who has run in it. Love the way the running community is showing support.

The London marathon - the London battle ?? Nope, never heard of that one, maybe you should increase your meds, you're hallucinating again !!
The first "marathon" was run after the Athenians won a major battle. A messenger ran from a place called "Marathon" to Athens to bring the good news and then promptly dropped dead.

Quite a famous event of the Greco-Persian wars, actually. Second only to Thermopylae.

Perhaps apologies are in order to Stiggy?

Yes I knew about the Athenians, but I was talking about the London marathon, to which he replied that it was named after a battle, which it obviously isn't. So no apologies required, since he was the one who made the mistake !!

Stiggy was making the point that the term marathon is derived from having been first to happen at the site of a battle, hence why marathons are called marathons, named so for the place of battle where the first person to do it did so

Just a bit of a communication breakdown in the conversation. Nothing we can't get past

Yeah, thanks Mojo now that made sense, just wondering why stiggy assumed that everybody automatically knew what he was talking about. Clarity in posts overcomes such confusion !!

True that.

Running this weekend. Scheduled 5K at 10 AM, then I imagine we'll take the T as parking will be a nightmare, and will run the last mile at 2. My parents will be in town - it will be ... interesting. I have told them to bring lawn chairs but I figure they won't need/want them on the T, and one mile won't take more than 15 - 30 minutes even if we're tired.

Then lunch and a loooong shower.
Once Ixalla was ready, Tathrelle cornered her. “Before we leave for work, I just want to tell you, I’m sorry. I guess I sort of shut down last night. perhaps if you dont understand something.. you should ask for clarification instead of telling someone to increase their meds. That was quite rude of you.

Looks like the last mile might not go down this weekend - areas are still closed. Hmm. Other things are still happening, though.

Some of the runners were able to collect their stuff today, weren't they?

And the little boy and the police officer were laid to rest today. Poor families.
