watched the last one last night :( I kinda feel like I did when I watched the last firefly .... all empty inside.

Loved the last episode though. Loved to see him interact with a real girl even if he was just playing at it. Loved John's reaction too. All the references to an ongoing drug propblem were intriguing. I wasn't so fond of the "twist". I liked Mary before and now I like her a little less.

Actually, I found her more interesting after the twist. Gave her more depth for sure. She didn't have to be a crutch or gag anymore. She became a real person. Plus it adds a real validity to Watson's mental condition. He is drawn to the dangerous ones. That's kind of an aspect to Watson I've never seen done before, & it's pretty cool

Interesting thing about Janine. When she visits Sherlock in the hospital, she comments "Just once would've been nice". I don't think they ever actually consummated

Martin Freeman's reactions are at least half of the charm of this show. It's like watching a master class. I swear to god

SHERLOCK shocks everyone at the Emmy Awards

Okay... now I 'doubt' these wins shocked EVERYone. Maybe shocked a whole bunch. Maybe surprised US producers at large because of the excellent quality of programing that is in fact being produced in the US. But, really, SHERLOCK is gives the dark horse aspect because it is foreign born and produced. Forgetting it has played on the US continent's PBS for years now, which makes it a contender for Emmy doesn't it? Granted the SHERLOCK stories do not take us to the darkest places in our minds or society with a grind stone or anything like its running mates do, not as spectacularly, anyway. But, the winners are voted by Peer Groups, not outside forces, right? So 'shocks everyone at the Emmy Awards'? Well, SOMEbody voted these wins. And the Voters were Peers in every category won. Anyway the article continues:

And the show with the most wins at the 2014 Emmy Awards goes to...SHERLOCK?

Indeed: SHERLOCK: The Last Vow (Masterpiece) which airs on BBC and PBS, shocked everyone at the awards ceremony on Monday as it steamrolled over big names in the TV movie/miniseries categories to win seven awards total -- the most of any show this year. It's also the first time that SHERLOCK, nominated many times before and 12 times this year, won any Emmys at all.

Star Benedict Cumberbatch picked up lead actor in a TV movie/miniseries (beating Billy Bob Thornton, Mark Ruffalo, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Idris Elba) while Martin Freeman won the supporting actor prize (instead of Matt Bomer, Joe Mantello, Colin Hanks, Jim Parsons and Alfred Molina). Perhaps not expecting much, neither Cumberbatch or Freeman showed up.

It was a surprise to many in the industry, who expected HBO's The Normal Heart to sweep up all the prizes. (It eventually won best TV movie.) SHERLOCK co-creator Stephen Moffatt -- who won the writing trophy over American Horror Story's Ryan Murphy, The Normal Heart's Larry Kramer and others -- told reporters backstage at the Emmys he was just as stunned as anyone. "I feel guilty about every award we took from them," he said in reference to The Normal Heart.

As strange as it seemed, SHERLOCK's domination at the Emmy Awards isn't that crazy. The show is a massive hit in Britain, where it originally airs, and 4 million people tuned into PBS at the beginning of this year to watch the third season. Plus, Cumberbatch's profile has risen steadily over the last couple of years from quirky niche favorite to international star, thanks to things like his role in J.J. Abrams's Star Trek Into Darkness.

"Tooooot Toooot" (<---own horn) I said this when I watched IntoDarkness, that I was watching the launch of Cumberbatch into world super stardom. I was telling my friends this... a lot. That his performance there brought that indefinable brilliance exhibited by the handful actors who reach that highest level of film stardom. That our movie was his accidental world recognition launch pad.

And if there's one thing we've learned, it's never to underestimate the popularity of British television in the U.S. -- examples range from Downton Abbey to the inescapable Poirot. Combine all of that with the obsession with SHERLOCK (another season will air in 2015) and it was only a matter of time before it collected all the awards.

I will remember.

Yup! Yes Indeedy! You bet cha!

It was fullll of laugh out loud moments.
It had horror show elements.
It had a Very Strong psychological elements.
It had twists that turned on a dime.
It was tricky and adorable.

AND --SPOILERS-- if you don't like them don't read the rest of this post!!!

It had the brilliant twist of using 21st century Sherlock's UN-or-subconscious mind to solve his 21st century crime/conundrum/whatever by using his UN-or-subconscious manifested dream of a Victorian Age Him & The Crew solving a Victorian Age crime. But that twist doesn't become apparent for quite a while into the episode.

And then it ends with more humor back with the Victorian Age Him & Watson discussing the bits of Victorian Sherlock's supposedly 'dreamed' I guess memories of the 21st century Sherlock.

Clever clever clever.

I will remember.

Wouldn't have missed it for the world. DVRed it & watched it 3 times already. It takes 2 just to make sure I picked up everything they said, like when Sherlock whispers to John "Giver her some lines. She's perfectly capable of starving us both" about Mrs. Hudson

There was really only one thing missing in what was ostensibly a nod to the fact that they have a stellar supporting cast nearly completely filled by females, who get pretty well overlook quite a lot... Sally Donovan, who, incidentally, has only had 1 scene since season 2

True enough and I 'always' looked forward to another round of Sally Donovan, little foil that she was. WHERE IS THAT GIRL ANYWAY??? LOLOL Hiding from her last blunder with the proving Sherlock's a psychopath thing I suppose. :D Seriously though, I do hope the future has more of her.

And that whole thing with Watson not giving Mrs. Hudson enough dialogue in his stories had me laughing harder and harder the more Mrs. H kept going on about it, with Watson doing all that sincere explaining about why her character isn't important enough to his stories to need her to speak in them. Sooooo funny. So yeah, John, "Giver her some lines. She [IS] perfectly capable of starving [you] both" . :D
I will remember.
