Posts: 18,370 Group: Admin Member #1,331 Joined: October 14, 2007	Im not sure if this has been discussed or was a poll or what.. but Do you eat ketchup/catsup (if you eat it at all) on pork? or chicken?? the only pork I eat it on is a hotdog/corndog.... but Ive seen a lot of people recently eating it on chicken.. I was shocked! Ketchup on chicken? I eat BBQ sauce on pork and chicken.. but the idea of ketchup seems so wrong.. like drinking the wrong wine combination with meat...you can do it, but it just not the right pairing.

If you call Ketchup tomato sauce (which in essence, it is) on your side of the pond, then what do you call actual tomato sauce that goes on pasta? what you call chips, we call fries (i think) and what we call chips, you call crisps .....right? Or should we just skip it and just eat?

It's usually clear which is meant in context. Ketchup is also used as a term, and (imaginatively) red sauce. Chips and fries are very similar but I wouldn't call them the same. What you get in McDonalds are fries. Chips are these: Eat them with ketchup, or vinegar, or (revoltingly and quite a recent development) mayonnaise.
