I wonder what he'll look like when he's sixty. :duck:

That's just looney.

I'm all for people owning themselves and all, but that doesn't preclude me from calling them stupid.

You know, there is one thing you can tell about a book by its cover... how damaged it is.

You'd have to be mental to go that far, as in you look in the mirror & think "There is nothing there which I can identify with, nor consider is worth seeing ever again.

The makeup made him look like a person, & though I'm all for people challenging the image of identity & beauty etc... when you decide you shouldn't look like a person anymore, that is a significant mental disorder, imo

Live long and prosper.....!!

From the title I thought it was the other way around - they tattood him zombie. I have some tats on my arms, which I don't mind showing off, but that guy is just too extreme. I can just imagine the reaction when his girlfriend takes him home to meet her parents (assuming he has/can get a girlfriend) !!

As a prank, using washable paint, could be fun. But having to live with it for the rest of his life......??

Having said that. I'm a believer in the philosophy that even the mentally ill have a right to live how they want, so long as it is of no harm to anyone else. Live & let live

I have my perspective, & that guy has his. He's got a right to live however he chooses. There's plenty of people like him now. The cat woman, the lizard guy

This guy... whatever

I would never be satisfied with a tattoo... in 3 months I would wish it was in a different place or different color ..I know I would be extremely fickle, also I dont like needles

however...if I ever do get a tattoo... it would be on my ribcage (which I hear hurts horribly) and it would be a quote or name of my husband (should I ever have one) the quote would be hard...as it would be hard for me to settle on what I wanted.

You could probably find someone who'd do a far better job than that. That one looks rather mediocre imho, unless that style is the desired look

Nobody LIKES needles, unless they're some kind of pain fetish nut, but they are a part of modern life. & the tattoo ones are far less invasive than the ones I encounter at the blood drive or the dentist

The rib cage hurts. That's where one of mine is, some of it anyway. The real difficulty of a rib cage tattoo is that you worsen the pain when you breath. You end up breathing shallow, & even then... But ultimately, the pain is temporary, even though mine was 4 hours. However, the result is somewhat permanent, unless you want someone lasing it off your ass. You think needles suck? Try laser firing something off your ass

Even as someone with tattoos, I often recommend against them, especially words, names or quotes on their own. The way I put it is like this. YOU are adding to YOU. Your skin is YOU. It may be only skin deep, blah blah cliche blah, etc... but without skin YOU aren't YOU. YOU need skin in order to be YOU. So, your skin is YOU. If there is something which YOU absolutely believe needs to be an additional part of YOU, then by all means add it to YOU & be the YOU that YOU believe YOU should be, and can't be without it being part of YOU. In a way, you're adding to what nature gave you, which is why some religions forbid them, only God can give you the you that you have, by their account

The last thing you want your skin to be is a yearbook, especially the yearbook that highlights the stupidity of your past, & we've all been stupid in our past. Furthermore, when you add it to you, you are adding to the image of you, therefore it should probably be an image. Words or names without imagery are just graffiti on your body, imho. It does nothing to enhance the image of you or itself. If you want to wear words on you, get a custom t-shirt

When you are getting a tattoo based on the fact that its permanency is your statement, you're missing the point. The only reason to get a tattoo is because you must be with IT as part of you.

That's how I see it

As somebody who has tats, very much agree dude. I have one tat that relates to a 'bad boy' phase I went through as a teenager, and it was considered cool at the time. The others are just piccies - but you know what they, a piccy says a thousand words !!

Do I regret getting any of them ?? No, but I did think about it for days beforehand. Ok, one tat I got to help out a tattooist friend get business, but I was seriously thinking about it anyway, so no harm done. I have four, two on each arm, and don't regret any of them !!

Yeah, that was the best example I could find. I've seen better IRL.

I like me the way I am.. nothing needs to be a part of me... I would never be satisfied with whatever I added.

so I guess thats just another reason not to get a tattoo. I still like the ribcage.. and would risk the pain if there was something I truely wanted.

however.. some people enjoy being a "yearbook" as you put it.. that is whats special to them, that is what they feel like needs to be a part of them.. so how can you argue that?

I still like the idea of a quote... short and sweet.... no novels on my ribcage..lol
