Where you're from, what do you call a fruit or sugary crushed ice beverage treat? :mojo:

all of the above.. but then again Florida is a mis-mash of everywhere else... different locations serve them under different names.
All my posts are done from my tablet. I apologize for all strange errors in my posts... as swype hates me. :violet:

slurpee. even if the thing you get it from says icee.

smoothie is reserved for what's made out of
fruit, ice (or frozen fruit) milk or yogurt or ice cream.
they're generally thicker than slurpees and better for you.

I agree with Violet, all of the above but I personally call it a slushie.

Live long and prosper.....!!

In the UK they were known as Slush Puppies, and after a big start you'd be lucky to find one now. Didn't help that there was a big scandal about the amount of sugar in them !!

However, some enterprising ice cream shops on the coast took the idea, selling drinks made of real crushed ice and syrup and I believe those are still popular !!

Slush Puppy to me.

I've heard of the other terms but I know them to be American or Canadian.

A Smoothie to me is a drink made purely from fruit - no ice or anything else added.

Yeah, I threw smoothie up there with them, but I kind of figured everyone relates smoothies with frozen fruit blends

I grew up calling them slushies. If someone were to call it that, you all would know what they meant then?

In the right context... if you told me you had huge slushie yesterday i'd probably offer my sympathies and file it under Too Much Information.

Mojo, being an upstate NYer, you probably know my answers as being Icees are little frozen shaved iced treats with liquid flavors on them, Slurpees come out of 7-11, and frozen blended fuit drinks are Smoothies.

I have no idea what a Slush Puppie is other than for possibly a horny trekslut-monkie LOL

Slush Puppy is basically flavoured crushed ice, which I'm guessing is what you call an icee?

Rethinking this, it can go either way depending on location as well. Out here on the island, Ices are more like sherbet, and in NYC they are of the flavored shaved ice variety

It's shaved ice & lots of fruit flavourings that are full of E numbers! Great for kids

They sold them at our old local fairground, I was never allowed one. :lus:
