I think I know what the problem is. I bought some tonight, just so my kids could have one before they are gone and they are almost half the price of a comparable box of little debbie

Went to the store earlier tonight and the guy in front of me had a stack of about six boxes of Hostess deserts.

Try one battered, fried and with a dusting of powdered sugar.

There's chip shops here that if you go in with a chocolate bar, you can get it deep fried & some even have deep fried mars bars on the menu! A customer of my dad's made him a deep fried Jam sandwich - my dad said it was really nice. I'm not so sure though.

i went to wal-mart to maybe get some hostess stuff
& the only thing left (in boxes) was 3 chocolate zingers.
in the individual stuff was a bunch of devil's food mini-doughnuts,
a couple each of lemon, peach & strawberry filled pies. so i got 3 things of
little debbie stuff. i wonder how many are doing that?

all of those places that sell deep-fried
twinkies are probably running to find other
things to replace them.

I'm sure you could make something better than the twinkie I ate last night
from what i recall of the last time i had them
(3-4 years ago) i wasn't thrilled with them.
so it's probably a good thing wal-mart was out.
they have their store-brand that i might try soon-ish.

In just a few days, a box of 100 Twinkies will arrive at my house. Given that I eat one Twinkie — maybe two — each year, these should last at least 50 years. That's the point. I'm stocking up on a lifetime supply of Twinkies.

When I first heard that Hostess was filing for bankruptcy a few months back, I immediately dismissed the idea the company could actually close. "They'll work it out," I thought. I figured there was no way that the brand behind Twinkies, Ding Dongs and those cupcakes with the squiggly line, would cease to exist. It seemed impossible. Hostess is as American as Wonder Bread.

But when things started deteriorating in the last few weeks, I began to panic. Why? Because like so many people, I have a very deep emotional connection to Twinkies. I ate them when I was little. My mother kept the individually wrapped snacks around the house and every now and then I could have one. They were the ultimate treat.

There's plenty of imitators, regional and national that make twinkie like pastries.

Hey, have you guys heard of the pastry that stops women from wanting sex....?

my dad heard some radio talk show host say
that twinkies will be around forever.
after the end of the world the only things left will
be twinkies, people from pittsburgh & cockroaches.
