KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!!!!!!

So, I just discovered I've been having a long, drawn out blonde moment for like the last two weeks. My wife and I have been reading The Princess Bride (well, she doesn't really like to read, so I'm reading it to her, ala the movie :allteeth: ). Well, for those who haven't read the book, the author presents it as an abridged version of an old book that his dad used to read to him when he was a kid. He says that when he grew up and read it for himself, he found that his dad had left out a ton of stuff and only read him "the good parts" so he decided to publish a "good parts version" for others to enjoy. Throughout all this, he's talking about stuff like it really happened, the original author did this and that, all the things in this book were based on real history and all that kind of stuff. So today, I decide to do some research and find out about these real happenings in history and the original author and the unabrdged version.....

Only to find I have been duped. There is no original version, all these places and characters are made up, and I haven't felt this stupid in a loooooooooong time. :(
Ah, Kirk, my old friend. Do you know the Klingon proverb which tells us revenge is a dish that is best served cold? It's very cold.......in spaaaace.

Awww that happens to the best of us.

There's a clock in our house that has been an hour in front for the past week. Reason it's not been changed? Well I'm not sure, I can't reach it so that's why I haven't done it. :lus:

Our clocks and watches are electronic, and change themselves. Before we got them though, and had to do it ourselves, they could be a week or two before we remembered long enough to do it, so you're not alone hon !! :hug4:

I had to change my watch & the clock in my room. The two little clocks in the lounge but couldn't do the one in the dinning room or the kitchen. Also had to change my dsi & my car clock.

Think dad did the kitchen one but for some reason not the dinning room one. :lus:

My phone & iTouch do themselves.

They have daylight savings time in England, Lus? I thought that was just a stupid American thing. I hate it. I wish they'd leave it on one or the other and stop changing it.

Yep we have it.

Though mentioned by Benjamin Franklin in 1784, the modern idea of daylight saving was first proposed in 1895 by George Vernon Hudson, who was British, and it was first implemented during the First World War. Many countries have used it at various times since then.
