I had some friends who really enjoyed the Guitar Hero and Rock Band games. They mocked my poor skills in the game when I joined in. One day I brought my guitar along and after failing miserably at a song I grabbed a real guitar and played "Dust In The Wind" by Kansas. This game seems interesting because it allegedly will actually teach you to play all the songs. I looked up the track list online and I must say, many of the songs are ones I love and several I don't currently know how to play. Also, there are songs I already play, like "Use Somebody" by Kings of Leon and "House of the Rising Sun"...so I won't be starting from scratch. I suppose I'll rent it and try it on my brother-in-laws Xbox when it is released. If I'm impressed I may actually buy an Xbox. This is a big deal for me. I haven't purchased a game platform since the original Playstation. I can only hope the game will feature updates much like the plastic guitar games that will allow a user to download additional tracks and personalize a playlist.

A real guitar, not a plastic miniature replica with buttons along the neck. Any non-acoustic guitar (even an electric/acoustic--anything with a jack) will work, as the game will include virtual effects pedals and amps. If it is properly executed, this game could be a big step. It will include the lead and rhythm for all songs. I would love to see it expanded to include bass guitar in the future, with some RHCP and Primus.

Swan Prince Posts: 1,732 Group: Klingon 1000 post angel Member #5,485 Joined: November 18, 2008	Rockband 3 kinda did that already with its Pro mode? Though the pro guitar accessory was ridiculously overpriced. Would be cool to just use your existing electric guitar alright.
