I have just fnished watching the first two series and I have to say that it is excellent. It stars Idris Elba, who you may know from the roll of Stringer Bell on HBO's The Wire. John Luther is a troubled, borderline genius London detective. The baddies are the very worst incarnation of whatever evilness gets them off. There are plenty of shocks.
