Ok thanks dude. I did think it might be Yosemite Sam, but without his usual cowboy outfit I just wasn't sure !!
That's why I chose that particular picture. He's all duded up & ready to marry Bugs, which is the exact thing McConaughey reminded me of, with his lounge lizard tux & prospector beard.

:rachel: My new favourite show I married at first sight
I'd rather watch actual train wrecks, like that opening scene in The Fugitive, but then again, I'm a dude

This lady got tired of being questioned about still being unmarried, and decided to start a photography project of happy family photos with mannequins

I 'will' remember.

What a clever person. Luv it! Makes for much more interesting conversation than "Nope. Not married yet."
I will remember.

It was getting ridiculous 35 years ago. Now it's just a cartoon reality we live in. However, it's easy to see how normal bizarro crap like that can seem to people now, given how completely isolated we are from reality in the western culture

Yesterday at work, I was the only person at the lunch table who wasn't on their phone. I finally chimed in & said "You know how people always lament where they were when historic events happened, like 9/11 or the JFK assassination?"

They all mumbled "Yeah". I followed up with "Won't it be efficient to know that in the future when we lament about the next one, we'll all have the same answer? On our stupid fucking phones"

Tom Hardy plays Charles Bronson in the movie Bronson, about the criminal, Charles Bronson, who was actually born Michael Gordon Peterson, but changed his name to Charles Bronson based on the actor Charles Bronson, who was actually born Charles Buchinsky

So basically, no one of note was ever actually born named Charles Bronson

Live long and prosper.....!!

I've actually seen the Bronson movie. It's a bit heavy going in parts, but overall Hardy gives a good performance, if a bit more manic than in Star Trek Nemesis. Worth watching though !!

It's an excellent performance in a film that's style is like a cross between A Clockwork Orange, & Blue Velvet

The 1st Sherlock Holmes story ever published was the novel A Study In Scarlet in 1887. At that time, it received very little public attention, as was the case with the 2nd novel, The Sign of Four. It wasn't until a series of short stories were published in The Strand magazine, in 1891, that Holmes started becoming a household name

Is it mere coincidence that taking place in London, between 1888 & 1891, were the highly noted & unsolved murders in Whitechapel, which are attributed to Jack The Ripper? Was the public embracing the super detective as a way to cope with the preoccupation & paranoia of the Ripper murders? Surely the need for someone as brilliant at forensic study as the fictional Holmes was what people were hoping would crack the Ripper case. Maybe? Do we then have Jack The Ripper to thank for the long illustrious existence of our greatest fictional detective?

I have heard a theory, that Holmes' greatest foe Moriarty was actually a metaphor for all the crime that was taking place in London at that time. Hence Moriarty's propensity for crime !!
