But his behavior has affected his work.
I haven't seen it..... I've watched right up to the last few episodes put on TV cuz my wife loves the show..... I didn't notice anything different from his acting from what I saw in the very first season.

The only way it has affected his work is how after all this stuff came out and his private life was being picked apart, he trashed the producer for telling him they'll work on the show again when he's ready. He claims he's always been ready and it was them causing all the delays because of his private lifestyle being made public and them not wanting to associate with it..... so he said a few things about what he thought of the guy and then a day later, he canned the show for the rest of the season.

If I was Charlie, I'd just quit and go work with HBO.... they love making shows around people like him or shows about people like him anyways.

Personally, I think the guy should STFU and just disappear, he's not showing any level of sanity, just making CBS's case for them, IMO.

What do you think is going to happen to him down the road?
I like the guy. Yeah sure he's partying it up with all kinds of women, left right and centre..... sure he's done/doing a few drugs..... but can anybody show me where this has actually damaged the show's ratings due to his performances, or even his acting on the show?

The guy does his job and apparently he's doing his job pretty well considering the show's popularity and how much the producers keep paying him per episode.

No one cares about the woman. I would hardly call 'blowing seven huge rocks of crack' per sitting a few drugs...IT"S CRACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No one is talking about his past performane or how funny the show was (we watch it most night in some form or other..re-runs...and, laugh all the time.)

His current advertisers have ALL pulled the plug....and, the producers had no choise to take the actions they did.

No Advertisers, No Show!

Praxius........Your young, right. I didn't even get passed your first paragraph. Let stop here.

Please, I'm in my 30's thanks.... what, do I have to be 76 years old before I qualify for an opinion?

Typical response.... someone says something someone else doesn't like and they chalk the person up to being a teenager or in their early 20's and ignore everything else.

As if your opinion is somehow more worthy.

I've met teenagers who have their head on their shoulders and know more about what's going on then someone in their 40's.... and vice versa.

Someone's age is irrelevant when it comes to expressing an opinion.

In regards to his personal life, I couldn't care less, because it's nobody else's business.

In regards to his professional life, I'll answer that question with another question:

Do you seriously think he wasn't doing any of this stuff in earlier seasons of the show?

Oh and you need to figure out how to quote and respond to posts properly without getting your responses within the quotes you're responding to.

I couldn't care less if it was whippets he was using, it's his life, not mine and not your's.

Of course nobody is talking about his past performance or how funny the show was. Nobody wants to talk about how good a job he did while on drugs, they just want to talk about the drugs and how he must have just started taking it the moment it cracked the news and now everybody wants to talk about how he needs help and how horrible the situation is.

And regardless of people's personal opinions of the show or his acting abilities, he was obviously doing something right to be the most paid TV actor at almost 2 million bucks an episode and to have the ratings the show had for so long.

No, the producer(s) took it personally and shut the show down for the season due to what Charlie said about them on live radio.... which to me seemed fair, since they were getting personal with his life and his business.

If those photos never made it on the tabloids and tv..... the show would probably be still in production right now and nobody would be saying anything.

Funny, I didn't see/hear any news about advertisers pulling off the show, and I just did a search for it online and found nothing except the producers suspending the show, so I'm not sure where you got that little nugget.

No, it's the US's public opinion and fearmongering over drugs...... guns and violence are ok..... and shipping guns to Mexico and Canada are ok, but anything to do with Drugs or sex with more then one person who's not your wife and suddenly the public is outraged and demand them to clean up their act.

Nobody wants their children to grow up like that..... heaven forbid.

No, Praxius. After working two 60 hour weeks in a row.....and, getting an 82 on my biology test last night working till 10:00 PM......I finally got a few minutes to visit the board.......and, after making a long post of my own......I had to get back to work.........since I am at work.....and, really thought you were in your twenties as I am...will be...52 in a few days.

We all have opinions. The fact is when advertisers pull shows are cancelled since the producers do not have the money to air the show. That's a fact.

I think Charlie Sheen might have created enough curiosity factor to still have great ratings. If he gets his act together.....and, the advertisers think they can....WIN......they will come back as sponsors.

I would like to see that happen. His show is one of the few things TW and I enjoy together.

No offense on the age thing. Hell, I wish I was in my thirties again!! :p

Producers only suspend a show.....IF THE ADVERTISERS PULL OUT AND AFFECT THEIR BOTTOM LINE. Show business is a business...and, the busines is to make ' a lot' of money. The producers could careless what Charlie Sheen say about them personally IF they are STILL able to make millions of dollars off of him....They might not like what he says personally about them....but, lining your pockets with millions is an easier pill to swallow.

And...that is my opinion.

Do you know anyone personally involved with crack, Praxius? Do you have any personal experience with a family member on this drug? I do. A real close family member. It is horrifying to see what this person does to your family. My heart breaks for Martin Sheen and the rest of his family. Crack is Whack....it hijacks your brain.

I can't tell you the experiences I have of going to the seedy crack motels...and, trying to get this person away....so, I can help remind them....of their other life.......and, I can't tell you what I went through.....seeing this person suspended...with one foot in the life he vaguely remembered...not wanting to lose it all...but, not realizing it was so hanging on by a thread.......and, I so desperately want to pull you back in...so, you do not lose everything....and, please....just hold my hand....just remember....please, don't let go.....just hold my hand tight.....and, remember what you are throwing away......remembr us...remember the things you do hold dear....please, please....don't slip away from us..................and still, the foot in the door of the life he was currently living that was stealing his soul. It was horrific!

That is what concerns me about Sheen and crack. I have compassion for his family members...because, the crackhead segregates you (and your love & your help) away from them.....because, the drug has hijacked their brain. It does not matter if he is clean right now. The cravings in that drug will destroy you......and, he exhibits all the patterns of being highly susceptible....to the worst that drug has to offer.......and, when his fresh millions from new shows are gone.....that drug will burn up his residuals like no tomorrow. Those two crack whores he calls goddesses are not doing him any favors. His family knows it. His family knows he is hanging with a very seedy people. I know all about family, crackheads, and seedy people. They are feeding off him so he can keep them supplied. They will do anything to stay by his side so the fresh source of crack is not cut off. Nannies my ass. That is why the kids were taken. They are crack whores.

I truly believe this is why he is making such a reckless ass of himself.....his concern for fresh crack money has robbed his brain of reason.

Gummy was so instrumental in helping me deal with all of this during the summer of 2007. Thank God for Gummy when I was going through all this crap with my family member.

Naw no worries, it usually takes a lot more to get me offended...... I've just had so many people toss the age card my way over the years when I say something they don't like, it's just one of those things that always bugged me.

Another one of my opinions: anybody who works back to back 60 hour weeks and still has time to write a biology test, anything above an 80 is pretty damn good.

And yes, that is a fact.... when advertisers pull off a show, they do tend to kill off the show.... Tiger Woods was a good example of what happens when you lose your advertisers/sponsors.

However, that's not what happened in this case:

http://www.daemonstv.com/2011/02/25/two-and-a-half-men-production-officially-suspended/
"TWO AND A HALF MEN, which had been on a hiatus to accommodate star Charlie Sheen’s at-home rehab, was due to resume production next week. However, just hours after Sheen went on the Alex Jones radio program and ranted about Two and a Half Men executive producer Chuck Lorre, Alcoholics Anonymous, and some of the women he partied with, CBS and Warner Brothers announced they are halting production on the sitcom’s eighth season.
The official statement from CBS Entertainment and Warner Bros. Television reads,

“Based on the totality of Charlie Sheen’s statements, conduct and condition, CBS and Warner Bros. Television have decided to discontinue production of “Two and a Half Men” for the remainder of the season.”........"

^ There was nothing in regards to losing sponsors or advertisers...... they didn't like how he was trashing them, so they canned the show for the time being. Whether or not it has a future, remains to be seen, but I kind of doubt it.

But even if they do can the show and even if he can't get another acting job....... for getting just under 2 million per episode and the royalties he makes from all his previous work over the years, I'd be the guy really doesn't have to work another day in his life.

But I also just saw while searching for the above link, that he's instead going to get money by going on twitter and other online sites..... how that works I don't know. I guess I should look:

http://theblemish.com/2011/03/charlie-sheen-joined-twitter-for-the-money/
"He’s already amassed more than a million followers in a day and released a bunch of random tweets about WINNING but tweeting about how awesome he is is not why he joined Twitter. Want to know the real reason Charlie Sheen started typing 140 characters with his fire breathing fists? For the money. Sheen told TMZ Twitter is a “cash cow” and that he can make tons of money off of advertising. Pressed for more detail, he told TMZ “I’m unemployed!”

That is to say, he’s come to terms he’ll never go back to Two and a Half Men and has resorted to promoting "

Interesting.

I knew a few people, including my ex room mate who did cocaine. No, not exactly the same drug obviously, and no, I don't agree with the use of that drug, or even crack for that matter, but one thing I could say about my ex room mate was that considering what you hear about most people on that drug, he had it under control. What I mean is that he didn't do it every single day or every single weekend, nor did he steal money or items to sell for money to get his next fix. It was usually a once in a blue moon thing he would do....... like smoking a cigar.

And when he had to go to work, he went to work and did his job, and he knew enough not to use the stuff while at work or shortly before work..... not even the day before work.

Sure, a number of people end up abusing the crap out of a drug and let the drug control their lives to the point they're ruining everything around them or endangering those around them..... but the same thing happens to many people who drink alcohol. And just because a lot of people can end up abusing something, that doesn't automatically mean everybody does.

While I don't agree with the use of either of the above mentioned drugs, I'm not about to sit on my high horse and act like I'm better then those who use those drugs, because their life is not my life...... people can abuse any substance thrown in front of them, whether it's crack, cocaine, weed, acid, alcohol, tobacco, caffeine, food, sex, gambling or anything else...... too much of anything can and will kill you someway, somehow if you don't know how to keep control of your own life and your health.

Whether or not I had a family member or loved one on crack is irrelevant to the case of Sheen and what he does in his personal life. He is not my father, or cousin or brother and whatever he does in his own life has no direct impact on my own or anybody else's in my family. There was someone in my family just last year who was hooked on dilaudids & oxycotin...... pain killers prescribed by doctors.... which were handed out like candy around Atlantic Canada by doctors to cure just about anything.... to the point of it now being sold on the streets like any other illegal drug out there. They got help and they got treatment.

No, it's not a good thing to see a family member stuck on a heavy drug that addicts them..... but regardless of the drug in question that addicts them, the outcome and impact on the rest of the family is generally the exact same.

Indeed..... the real problem is that you can tell them all of these things, you can try your hardest to convince them that what they're doing is dangerous and wrong, you can drag them away from the drug kicking and screaming and lock them in a room somewhere until their addiction seems to have worn off and they're clean....... but the real problem isn't the drug.

The real problem that needs to be dealt with is what caused them to turn to that drug in the first place and if that is never addressed, they'll eventually just go right back on it again, or onto some other drug.

You can't force help on someone, they have to want help first, otherwise you only end up pushing them away further. While they appear to be clean and say they learned their lesson..... the only lesson they learned is how to hide what they're doing better next time. They might end up clean for about a year, maybe two..... but if the things in their life that put them there in the first place have not been addressed, chances are, they'll be right back to where they started again...... only next time, they'll hit the drug harder and faster, and a lot more at once and it'll be worse then before and twice as hard to get them clean again.

His reasoning seems pretty sound to me when it comes to speaking his mind on the matter. All I hear is someone pissed off and angry about other people meddling in his personal life who have no business meddling. It's no Bi Polar, it's not some drug induced rage..... it's a guy speaking his mind and standing up for his own personal life.

I don't agree with his personal life, but like I said, it's none of my business, and if he wants to go kill himself, that's his business, and all the rest of us can do is perhaps learn from his mistakes.

It's harsh..... the thought of it might tug the heart due to personal experiences one has had with a loved one, but it's the cold hard truth.

I used to smoke weed everyday. I could easily afford it and I was still able to do my job well. I knew well enough not to go to work stoned and I kept my personal life away from my professional life. I wasn't getting stoned every single waking hour of my free time, but I'd have some before I went to bed, like some people have a glass of wine.

If someone I didn't know came up to me and started wagging their finger in my face and telling me what they think of my personal business and my personal life, I'd probably tell them where to go in the worst possible way I could imagine. Who are they to butt into my life and tell me how to run it?

They only care and just have the best intentions?

Not bloody likely..... they only want to help comfort their own demons and make themselves feel that they're better then someone else.

I've also tried acid, shrooms, hash, oil, salvia, ecstasy and of course the legal drugs, tobacco and alcohol. Now, it's just a beer once in a while, a coffee in the morning and smoking tobacco....... but I can't rule out that I won't again get into weed again. It helped me sleep and reduced the pains in my back, not to mention helped me get off my anti depressants, which were a hell of a lot worse then any illegal drug I've tried, that's for sure.

Everybody has a vice...... Every single one of us, including you, I and everybody else on these forums, be it legal or illegal.

Smoking tobacco, smoking pot, dropping acid, drinking coffee, drinking alcohol, eating chocolate, gambling, having sex, popping prescription drugs, exercising, eating food, collecting things....... we all have things that help make the days not so bad when they are bad.

^ When any of this becomes a real problem is when we let any of these things take over our lives.

Why do they take over our lives? Because there's something about our lives we are trying to mask or escape from..... and that's the real problem and that's why these things take over so easily.

PS...It is very hard for me to believe Canada is as tolerant of crack as you make it out to be.

Canada in general is mostly tolerant towards Marijuana, as Canada has the most amount of pot smokers then any other nation in the developed world (Including those who have it legalized) Beyond Marijuana, many are growing towards support for taking off many of the restrictions on currently illegal drugs, because making drugs illegal not only makes the organized crime scene worse and further gives them money, not only does it make occasional users who are still productive to society out to be criminals, not only does it create a huge waste on tax dollars and keeps increasing government spending on a battle they'll never win, but it also restricts the level of help people can get when they want to get off whatever drug they are on...... many of these people on heavy drugs, some of whom I knew first hand and heard from their own mouths, are fearful that if they come out and try and get help, they will lose their jobs, they will get arrested and sent to jail, they will have their family abandon them and they'll be in a worse state then where they're at now.

Yes, some of that reasoning they have is a bit screwed up, but some of it is also valid...... and if our governments put half of the money they put into fighting these illegal drugs into proper anonymous help centres and proper research into those drugs to find the best possible way to get people off them..... and if others would start to treat these people like grown adults and with respect, rather then treating them like they can't even run their own lives and make their own decisions....... many of today's issues would be resolved...... fewer people would be on these drugs, and many..... many of these people could independantly seek out help to kick their habbits all on their own without having to have their families drag them kicking and screaming like they're some kid.

Sure it looks like the drugs taken over someone's life...... but that's only because they allowed the drug to take over because there is something in their life they no longer want to deal with and it's just easier then to face it. Help them address what's bothering them in their life and they might just find the will and desire to actually kick the habbit and go through the process of cleaning themselves up.

Otherwise, what do they have to look forward to?

Going back to the thing that was causing their problems in the first place? Having their loved ones finger wagging them about all the wrongs they have done? Going back to a life they honestly didn't really like? Have their family only tell them that they love them and don't want to see them get hurt...... then when they're clean, they go back to the way they were and distance themselves, acting like they actually did something, but leaving them right back to where they started?

^ That's why to many on heavy drugs see their family only serving their own self interests. A family member is risking their life and they don't want to be the person everybody says did nothing to help because they hated their family member, so they feel obligated in helping their family member get off the drugs so that they don't end up feeling bad and looking bad to others. They don't want to be that person later on feeling guilty and saying to themselves "I should have done more." That's not helping the user, that's helping yourself get rid of the guilt you have inside.

^ I highly doubt it was the case in your situation and I'm not saying this was what you were thinking (I don't know anything about your personal situation)..... but you have to accept that it can appear this way to others, especially towards the user.

Well, as I said before, and I agree completely with what's his face, Charlie Sheen's life is his own business.

Everything, except that "shipping guns down to Mexico, business". That's a myth. Most of those guns DO NOT come from the US.

Other than that, rock one Mr. Sheen (and Praxius).

Now what! LOL!!

I need to be to busy at work today...and, start paying attention to my next round of course work. Gummy still has me in a very low key gear. Even people at work noticed...even when they talked to me by phone that something was wrong. I have no time to debate Praxius today so don't worry about drama in the thread.

The only reason I came up for air from RL (so glad to since that is when we found out about Gummy) is I just took my test...got an 82...after getting a 54 the night before.....you can take it twice, the higher score sticks.....and, I just took a day of phoneing it in at work yesterday after being here for 18 straight days.....60 hours per week for the last two weeks.

I just don't understand how anyone can defend crack use by saying if he is successful using crack..then it is no ones business. Crack don't work like that. I am sure he was a huge issue on the set......Crack addicts disappear off the face of the earth with their crack friends...and, the only people that can near them are other crack users and the guy who sells them crack.

It really irritates me when people dismiss crack like just another recreational drug. I have nothing but compassion for Charley Sheens family. His dad was one of my favorite actors when I was a kid. His dad......my heart breaks for his family. Can you imagine how his family feels knowing their two grandchildren are being raised by drug addics. Their Mom is trying to recover....again. That is why Charlie had custody. Now, he publicly admits he is a big-time druggy. Of course, they will remove the kids. Anyone Sheen lets close at this point is a druggy including the goddesses just like his ex-wife....because, they are druggies to, hangers on looking for a free ride...crack whores.

Charlie Sheen lost his true Goddess.....Denise Richards....because of his lousy drug-addled behavior. Denise Richards is the same caliber of woman they pair him with on his tv show....as you can see...that his current real life path is not affording him. Those kind of woman want nothing to do with him in real life.

I hope he fixes himself before he wrecks himself for good.

Now...I am on a soap...and can continue, but will stop.......LOL!!

Im quoting you so I can see what you posted in the flash tag.....

From the looks of it, what you posted is the entire URL for the video page - not the URL for the call to just the video file....

When on HULU, there is a COPY EMBED button - hit that, and paste into Notepad.....you get this....
Code:

<object width="512" height="288">
<param name="movie" value="http://www.hulu.com/embed/Exof-3fNWVyETs6tLnXOYg"></param>
<param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param>

</embed>
</object>

What you want to put in the flash tag is "VALUE=" value of the first PARAM tag....

Im correcting it in the quoted section of your post in mine, so you can what the difference is
