I vividly remember seeing a scene from a movie when I was probably about 4 or 5. It as in colonial north america and they were putting this woman to death by laying a board over her then piling rocks onto it. The scariest thing was the dead silence and lack of expression of all the other villagers.

I also remember a scene from another movie where a mexican man was in a canoe with his two sons and one fell out. He had this long stick and was searching around the water for his son.

I have no idea what movie either of these were lol

Sounds like a scene from Arthur Miller's play "The Crucible". They've made at least one movie adaptation that I know of.

For some reason the scene in the TNG episode "Hide and Q" where they are fighting those pig soldiers always stuck in my head.

Thanks for putting this up. I was actually going to do a "help" thread because on movie keeps popping in my mind recently and I have no idea what it is.

It's a movie from the early 80's, I think. I saw it when I was about 4 or 5. Some blond boy (late teens 18 -19ish) is running out to the end of a pier with food (McDonald's?) to give to some other kids in a boat who aren't necessarily fond of him. he ends up falling and hitting his head.

Then something happens and the boy is some kind of swashbuckling pirate that's protecting one of the girls that was in the boat earlier.

It's mushed and I'm sure I got something mixed up. But that's it. That movie has been bugging me for quite some time now.

I've seen almost all early 80's movies because I worked at a theatre and that doesn't sound familiar at all

This one made for tv Lifetime movie that had this mother and daughter who were homeless and the girl made a comment in the park about eating rock sandwiches. Later on in the movie they finally get an apartment, that the clean out but the little girl gets sick because of roaches.

Some old Superman episode. (Not Lois and Clark or Smallville) it was a real older version that played on Nick at Nite that involved some ground people that kidnapped someone that Superman saved.

Pop-shot!! I found it!! It's called Superman and the Mole men. I couldn't walk past a manhole cover and not think of that episode.

Oh wissa...I remember that movie vividly. It was great. I think she was being called a witch. It was a made for TV movie. Do we even have that anymore?? I am going to try and find it. That was a goodie. Why does my mind keep saying Hope Lange as the actress.

Off to find it!

PS...It was not Arthur Miller's 'The Crucible'.

If I have it right..as my memory is kicking in...I even think it was something that happened in her past life.....and, she actually was living again in the 1970's. Hmm...Now I really have to find it. It was scary though.
And....the kids!

Holy Crap! I found it. It was Hope Lange! That flick made some impression on me. I have not seen that since I was a teen-ager...

Crowhaven Farm

Early on in Crowhaven Farm, Maggie Porter is awakened from a deep sleep by the sounds of a little girl crying. The eerie sounds are coming from off in the forest somewhere. Concerned that someone, namely a child, might be hurt, Maggie makes her way out into the night in the direction of the sound. As she treks into the dark forest, the crying suddenly turns into a demonic cackle. The haunting laughter engulfs Maggie and she collapses in fright.

Working with a limited budget and the content-expurgate restrictions placed on made-for-television fare, director Walter Grauman is still able to construct a frightening movie in Crowhaven Farm. He does it by simply letting the viewers imagination fill in the blanks. The strange noises in the forest, the blurred images of pilgrims torturing a mother-to-be off in a nearby clearing. What do they mean? Grauman shows the audience something, fleetingly, and then forces them to use their own imagination to fill in what is missing. That is where the true horror lies within Crowhaven Farm.

Yeah,

It was bags of fast food, similar to McDonalds. I saw this on tv when I was four or five so it was probably waaaay early 80's or late 70's.

I know. I just read through the IMB posts. They said it was never even put out on video. Someone bought a copy off of ebay. I wonder if NetFlix has it. I guess it would have had to be put out as something for that to have had happen.

Yea...I guess everyone vividly remembers the scene with the door and rocks. :afraid:

Sherlock... I mean... KHANNNNNNN

I remember sitting with my dad while the original War of the Worlds was on - the only scene I remember is the alien thing coming through the window looking for the people. I was about 7 years old at the time & had nightmares for weeks. It scared me so much that still to this day I can not hear the music or think about it without having feelings of nervousness & anxiety. I even had to leave the office I worked in at one point because it came on the radio. Even just typing about it makes me feel funny. :afraid:

Because when we were kids we had channels 2, 4, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13...And, that TV movie of the week was promoted to hell! _lmao_

For years I used to think about a movie I saw as a kid...but, could not remember what the hell it was. There was fantasy involved....and, skeletons with swords, like pirates, like a fighting army....and, ships.....I wondered for years what the hell that was.

I think someone told me it might have been the old 'Sinbad' movies from the 1960's.
And....the kids!

Saw this as a kid, and scared the hell out of me for days after.

Based on a Shirley Jackson novel of the same name, it's an old movie and filmed in black and white. What's so scary about it, is the fact that you don't actually see anything scary - it's all psychological, just light and shadows and sounds, and your mind fills in the blanks. I've seen lots of so-called "horror" movies, including the remake of this film (which was atrocious), and none of them come even close to the quality of this movie.

Highly recommended, for anybody who wants to experience a true horror movie !!
R.I.P. Gummy, we'll miss you bro
