So I'm a little behind on the times, but I was given a DVD of this show, which was apparently popular in the 1970's, and have been watching it. I kinda like it. The music ain't that bad. It's almost like the Monkees.

I don't have cable either, not for almost 10 years, but I remember the Partridge Family reruns from before there was cable tv. I watched those & the Brady Bunch ones, when I was like 4 or 5 years old

Partridge Family is like a cross between The Brady Bunch, The Monkees, & the Osmonds. Besides, I've always :plt: Shirley Jones

No cable either, but Partridge Family was on tv over here seems like a milennia ago. The Monkees were on too, and were better imho.

I liked the Monkees. Even though they were responsible for the demise of Star Trek! I wonder when the Monkees will be out on DVD?

Don't think it will, Mike Nesmith was never really happy about the songs after the first season, or some of the stunts.

Nesmith!?!?!!?!?!?!!?/...is he still even alive?!?!??!.............that would be like Ringo Star actually having an influence on the Beatles or Bruce Johnston having an opinion on the Beach Boys!

As I remember, Nesmith was the leader of the group and had some influence at that time. But, though he wasn't happy, he nevertheless went along with the stunts and music, mainly cos the fans liked them.

Whether he's still alive or not, I dunno. They were into some heavy drugs around the time of the movie, and the all had a rep for arriving on set high as a kite. Try Googling Nesmith, you never know.

For some reason, I always thought Davy Jones was the lead singer. He's still around, just hiding under a rock. It is DavyJones that is still famous. probably because Marcia Brady made him so popular(haven't even seen the Brady Bunch and I know that!)

Wouldn't be surprised about the hair !!

Yes, Jones was the lead singer, but Nesmith led the band. A bit like how Mick Fleetwood is the leader of Fleetwood Mac, but others do the singing (especially Stevie Nicks  ).

Okay, finally got one episode to go on the first season of the Patridge Family. Slow going. kinda like it. Musics okay. Interesting that keith dated Annette O'toole and Laurie dated Mark Hamill. Still can't believe i never saw this show before last July. I must have been under a rock in Canada or something.

on the bonus features they have the Partridge Family 2200AD. Apparently when Hanna Barbara attempted another season of the Jetsons, the network told them the Jetsons were lame and they's only run another season if the Jetsons were replaced with the Partridges!
