MOJO!!!!! You were right!!!!

Spoiler: click to toggle

Merill comes back but as an apparition when Daryl falls off the horse and rolls downs the hill.

Daryl was the latest of them to get shot...by who... Andrea. I dislike her more and more each week. She mistook him for a walker and after everyone told her to hold back, she shoots anyway.

I missed the "long talk" between Rick and Shane.

the talk between with rick and shane were all about girls shane had slept with in highschool and it turned into shane telling rick they were wasting their time and even "before" after 72 hours they would assume a child was dead. Shane thinks rick is being too soft and not adapting to the way things are now and it's making the group more vulnerable

& I'm pretty sure Hershel has had his fill of the road crew. Didn't even want to eat dinner with them

I missed the "long talk" between Rick and Shane.

Basically, Shane wants to abandon the search for Sophia, regardless of the fact that Daryl keeps finding evidence that she's still out there. He's fully sold on the hardcore survivalist code of cutting people loose who are going to hinder the welfare of the group. Rick, however feels obligated to protect Sophia, like he promised to do, & find a way to work with the homesteaders, on a long term basis

They are both right & they are both wrong. They DO need to safeguard the people in their group, especially the kids, but these homesteaders are not their group, a fact which is now imminent. The caravan will be on the move again soon, & likely bringing along Hershel's daughter

Andrea is much more stupid this season too :waiting:

But Daryl's response to everyone thinking he was a walker was funny "About time you pointed that thing at my head" Point being that they suck at killing zombies, because they often don't eliminate the brain

I agree mojo they are both right. It's just a matter of putting your humanity first or your survival.

I wonder if the girl is going to go with the road crew when they go.

I almost guarantee it. I'm also wondering about Sophia's mom & Daryl now :brow:

Especially since I still believe Merle is still out there, & when they cross paths, Daryl will have to choose who to side with, & Sophia's mom might go along with him

Basically, this group is slowly disbanding, especially in light of such fundamental differences between Rick & Shane

not to mention rick and shane are all about the one woman and child and all decisions revolve around them. Would you really want your life in their hands?

No. In a weird way, Shane is more honest about that. It was easy for everyone to turn to them in a pinch, being they're police officers, but I think they'll eventually figure out that a deputy is not necessarily a good group leader, they're boss men. All they can hope for is that they are a good person, who makes decisions which are in the best interest of the group. Neither of them are great at that, but I figure Rick is better than Shane. At least more even tempered

Frankly, if I were in their spot, I'd want a group of people, like Dale, Rick, Daryl,& Glenn conferring on courses of action. Not so much Shane. He's kind of pushy & really stubborn. Pushy, stubborn people hinder long term group efficiency. Hell I think Daryl is more even tempered than Shane at times

What you need to sustain a group is either an undisputed, qualified Boss, or democratic cooperation, & a willingness to be reasonable with others. You can't have both, & right now they have neither

To be honest, I thought Rick needed to lose that sheriff uniform, before he even went to Atlanta to begin with. It sends the wrong message. "I got the boss man suit on. I'm the boss man". That didn't really seem like his agenda or attitude, so it was a mistake to keep it on, & gives new comers the wrong impression, & the likeliest reaction is to think you're an idiot asshole, because "Newsflash! Ain't no police no more"

Rick may yet become a good leader. Shane not so much

I agree with the uniform. What was it supposed to represent anyway? with no government the uniform is useless.

Lots of great lines in last nights episode:

If I knew it was the end of the world I would have brought better books
All of us have wanted to shoot Daryl once or twice
(daryl when someone made fun of his chubacabra) do you believe in walking dead people?

woke up this morning thinking about this farm. Why can't they just move into the farm next door? It's likely got all the same advantages plus a doctor next door. Why does it have to be the farm or the outside world?

and the bombing of atlanta in the begining was interesting. Gave us some background on Laurie and Shane and what it was like in the final days.

Because that farm is not a permanent solution for any of them. The generator runs on gasoline, which is a going to run out. You can grow food anywhere there's dirt. It's a house, not a fortress. So far they only have to deal with random roaming walkers. If the place gets swarmed, & it eventually will, they haven't the numbers to deal any better than the campers. The only thing that farm has going for it, is some med supplies & a guy who knows how to use them. The supplies will eventually run out, & the guy's patience already is.

The only reason to stay put or hold up somewhere is that you think a rescue will come... & a cure, from the look of it. The guy is a man of faith who has put their fate in the almighty.

No sir, nomadic is the only way to survive this kind of event, at least until you find a suitable place to build a new community (I'm thinking a nearby island myself, one you can eradicate all infestation from) & even then, supplies will always be an issue, to some degree. So you'll need a trained raiding party, with a sailboat, & a motor vehicle. Until then, you travel, with a place in mind, & pick up man power as you go. Build a proper community atmosphere

I can't even remember where it is they were planning to go now... Oh wait.... Fort Benning military base in Georgia. Brilliant plan, that. There's sure to be no geeks there right? (Why'd we stop calling them geeks? I thought that was hilarious)

Hershel was right about one thing. It's amazing these boobs have survived as long as they have

we haven't even talked about the convo between Daryl and his brother.

anyone else watching Talking Dead after it? they had the actor who played Merle on last night and he wisely pointed out everything that merle was saying was actually what Daryl was thinking since it was his halucination.

and seriously, how the hell did he survive rolling back down that hill with the arrow sticking out of him? :pinch:

I've never seen "Talking Dead" :o

Frankly, it's pretty sketchy that an arrow in someone wouldn't break while tumbling down a hill. If it's the case that it's made from an incredibly durable material that could withstand that strain, then it should have torn him wide open. Where it was piercing him was so peripheral, that it could have just ripped its way right out of him

Something tells me that the real Merle wouldn't have been much different than Daryl's hallucinated one, minus one hand anyway

As soon as Daryl ate the squirrel guts....I knew they were going to think he was a zombie

well not much of an action episode. I feel like the group is really solidifying though in a way they haven't before. And I think they are building to a big finish next week for the 'mid season finale'. I loved Rick's reaction when lori told him about shane. :rachel:

:yeahthat:

It was the sleepiest of them all. Not even when the Walker in the Pharmacy came after Maggie and Glen or When Andrea and Shane went out to that neighborhood to look for Sophia and ran into a group of Walkers.

I thought that Sophia would just pop out the woods while Shane and Anderea were having their sexual rendezvous in the car.

Kind of dull, & Shane is getting on my nerves now. I'm thinking this gun training for little Carl is going to literally backfire on Shane, when he finally goes head to head with Rick. I think the kid will shoot Shane down

BTW, if you have a child & pregnant wife the last place you should be thinking of heading is west to Fort Benning which is likely a dead frenzy, & there is nothing safe about remaining at this ranch, or any ranch, with the impending disaster of a swarm of walkers, coming down on you. Millions of people lived in these cities in the area. Those masses of geeks will be spreading out. Hershel is not in the right frame of mind for a post-apocalypse. He's thinking Biblical, & the roadies need to gtfo of there, pronto

I know exactly where they SHOULD be going. It's called Cumberland Island, off the southern most coast of Georgia. The only way to get to it is by boat. It's like a tourist spot, & has some small lakes, & big long beach. There's even some buildings on it, & never any more than like 300 people allowed on it. Once you hijacked a boat to it, you could live like frontier people, periodically running mainland raids for medical supplies & such, while conducting roving patrols to eliminate any & all walkers from it. You won't need hardly any gas vehicles, because it's really only 6 miles wide at its widest & like less than 20 miles long. There's deer & boar, for hunting, & land to grow food on. Hell, I've heard there's even wild horses living there. A new home, free from zombie invasion

where would be the story in that? :p

I'm liking the new shane to be honest. Don't know if I'd want to be around him a whole lot but he makes for a interesting character.

anyone else find that they are feeding the walkers in the barn even creepier than the fact that they are there in the first place?
