You should watch Talking Dead. He was on this week, and while they were talking about how exciting next season is going to be, Lincoln jokingly asked the writer "Will I be in it?". He was answered in the affirmative, of course, which is probably why someone thought it would be funny to say he'd been cut from the show Had you seen that you could have saved yourself a bit of time. lol |

Well, that didn't do much good ![]() Just rewatched the finale. I still think it's pretty good. I have to agree with Rick's final assessment. In their group, they now have 12 people, the majority of which have one thing in common They are not victims, and the only way to sustain this kind of operation is to capture people who are weak. Capturing people who are stronger than you give them credit for being is inherently catastrophic That group of people they passed in one of the other train cars, the ones who you could hear crying out for help, they are the kind of people Terminus needs in order to maintain their outfit... people who can be herded I'm a little disappointed that our four were so easily herded into the kill box, especially since they knew before they got there that they were being herded. I'd think them already smart enough about traps that they could've broken loose of the drive they were stuck in. Glenn & his group at least have the excuse that they fell for the lie Nevertheless, they won't be as easily herded any longer |

So the more I think about those box cars full of people and the relatively few Termits; the more I think it would be more efficient to just keep people out and eat whatever it is they are feeding their prisoners than actually eating the prisoners. |

Note there was no veggies on the offered plate, only meat. They're feeding the new arrivals...old arrivals. You didn't get that? And they're likely only feeding them one plate of passable food before they spring the trap. Outside Glenn's train car were cartons of powdered milk for fattening up the captives. I suppose there may be some gruel of leftover parts they offer them as well. The only gardening seemed to be done in big planters in the passageways Ironically, the prison seemed to offer a more balanced diet than Terminus. A large fenced in garden, livestock breeding, game hunting in the vicinity. That Terminus compound looks like a shithole. Had it not been for the Governor, the prison had the best potential for prosperity of anything we've seen so far, damaged areas & all |

I had a feeling we weren't going to be hanging out at Terminus for long, based solely on set location. When they found that magnificent prison location, you just knew they wanted to milk that beautiful sucker for every scene they could muster. That Terminus set though... looked like a run down, run of the mill industrial structure sited for demolition anyhow. Real cheap & easy to fill the sucker with railway cars & then torch it Overall, a pretty action packed episode, with little substance, and a couple somewhat rushed reunions. Pretty good premiere, but I hope and assume they will get into the meaningful stuff right soon now..... especially since MORGAN is back! That's like the best news of the last 2 seasons |

I was happy with it. Loved the reunions. I think it set the theme for the season. Glad they left terminus behind quickly |

My completely pointless gripe for this episode: Carol: We're friends of the chick with the sword & the kid with the hat So apparently you're familiar with it. Then why the hell didn't you take 12 seconds & pick out the sword when you found the crossbow?!?!?!? It couldn't have been far & it must stick out like a ruby in a pile of glass. That's just mean Carol's mean now

Yup, good time for Morgan to show up too. I hope Tyrese is being truthful, because it's high time this crew got hardcore. It's kick ass or haul ass, & Carol's going to have to schedule in some time to cram that down Eugene's throat too |

I actually had to google Morgan to be sure he was the character I thought he was. I figured he was completely out. I guess we can't write anyone off who hasn't been killed right in front of us, and even then you never know..... |

Morgan has always been a fan favorite. I credit Lennie James for giving a riveting performance each time Frankly, everybody is being a bit squeamish, imo. Rick was right. They needed to do a sweep of Terminus, & at the very least, round up the surviving inhabitants who surrendered, and kill the ones who didn't. Then you can be civilized & work out who will go, who can stay & who must die. To leave without sealing the deal on that skirmish leaves them open to ambush later on by that dipshit hipster Gareth, who only took a hit in the shoulder |

I agree, but you have to admit they must have been completely overwhelmed. They have just been reunited and weren't even sure they would get out of there alive. And this is a new Rick, one who now thinks is such a way that they aren't used to. So far all of the ruthlessness they have shown has been when their backs were against the wall and they had no other choice. To go to Terminus now, or even to have done a sweep of the place would be more of a premeditated action and I don't think they really want to be about that either. Although I do see your point about an ambush later on. |

Yup. Good points. It seems like some of them haven't excepted the full scope of what self preservation means. What was weird is that they were hashing it out when Carol showed up & the reunion put an end to it. That's ironic, since Carol gets it, and her arrival should have been a another voice to support taking those kind of actions. They've had enough interactions with people go unresolved & come back to bite them, that they should all know better. If you stab a dude's eye out & leave him alive, you get a one eyed maniac gunning for you. If you chain a man's hand up & leave him for dead, you get a one handed man gunning for you. If a bunch of marauders sneak up on you & you kill one of them, you now have marauders tracking you through the woods. If you get away from a cannibalistic slaughter house, mount an assault to save yourself, and then don't finish the job, you will now have untold numbers of cannibals with a grudge, and your face imprinted on the memory. What else do they got to do besides find you and make you pay? Carol knows that. Rick knows it. Daryl should know it by now, & so should Glenn, & everybody else should start getting the picture |

^I completely agree. And you are right. The reunion with Carol is what interrupted the discussion. Perhaps you are on to something and that discussion will be revisited and acted upon. Maybe this whole season will be about the hunt. That would be kind of cool and different. |

Actually, I wouldn't care for it if a major portion of this season is spent with someone else trying to get even with them. They did it last season with the claimer gang. They did it in a big way, before that with the Governor. What I'd like to see is it blast them right away. In the next episode or 2 they have to deal with the consequences, and they spend the season in the aftermath of realizing that they can no longer afford mercy or cowardice with people who are looking to harm them By no means does that advocate them never trusting anyone ever again. You have to be open to accepting people, and each person or group they encounter must be taken on a case by case basis. You hope for the best... You plan for the worst. You're going to be able to draw out the marauders and scoundrels in short order, after you meet them, if you ready yourself for that, and know how to handle it when it happens It's a really important moment they glossed over there. It reflects back to that moment in the escape, when some of them wanted to double back & Rick instead ambushed them & mowed an entire squad down himself, & said "We're not doubling back". In this situation, we move on them. We kill all these people who were trying to gut us like steers, at least until we have the upper hand & can take in those surrendering The bottom line is that they aren't in a war with all other people, but they ARE in a war against the dead. That means a wartime posture, and if you aren't a recognized ally, then you are a potential enemy & your threat status must be ascertained The rules are different whether the more moral people like it or not. The word NO ONE in this show has ever said (Apart from zombie) is anarchy. That's the America they've been living in for about 2 years now. It's high time they came to terms with that |

I'm squeamish just turning it on at night. I can't stand watching all the zombie kills on Talking Dead either.
