I figured the long wire cable. Looked like Rick was gathering up an ethernet cable or something when he finally changed his mind. It looked like that phone was Rick's nutter phone, lol Rooker was on Talking Dead & suggested that ultimately he let Michonne go because he really just didn't want her around. He knew he was going into a firefight, & frankly, having her there wasn't going to change that or even help, & she kept talking him down. He knows the governor well enough to know the whole deal was BS anyway Merle's redemption was the simple decision to help his brother. His brother belongs with that group, even if he didn't, & that group was going to die. He just thought he'd balance the odds a bit by eliminating some Woodbury fighters, & returning a damn good one to Daryl's group I did like Michonne subtly suggesting Merle had some kind of morals buried inside. It kind of corrected my impression of him a bit. He is trouble & a questionable man, but he knows the evil he's done & bares the shame of it, unlike the Governor, who does not give a singular crap about any of the terrible things he's done Ultimately, the show always comes down to people who have nothing to live for & people who have something. The Gov. has nothing left & based on what Milton said, has turned away from the man he was. Merle had nothing, found something at Woodbury, lost faith in it, & then found his brother, which gave him something worth fighting for Carol is the best example. She lost everything, but doing so showed her how weak she'd been because she was afraid to lose it, & now that it's gone she has found something new to keep her going. Ultimately, the people with nothing have to find something or they are doomed Gah! Season finale next week, & then probably 6 months |

what do you think the walkers smell like? I'm wondering if you should be able to smell them coming at you. and I was reading a conversation on another site and there seems to be a lot of speculation that the governor was actually bitten during that attack that Andrea set up. |

also, I don't want Herschel to die, but you gotta wonder how much money the special effects around his leg are costing and what else they could do with that money |

You'll notice that they fudge a LOT, & smartly. Lots of tight shots that don't show it, or pull back shots of him sitting where it's stuffed down somewhere. Even standing with it raised up behind him. The only time they really need to CG it out is when he's getting up or down, & when he's crutching around, & if he's lucky enough to stick around. I figure somebody will set him up with a makeshift prosthetic something or other that his real leg can hide in, like Merle's hand did, plus I don't figure it's any more expensive than some of the gore shots they do, which also contain CG elements I've smelled decaying flesh before. It's a smell you don't forget or overlook, & though the zombies might have it lessened some due to their resurrected condition, compared to say a rotting, sun-beaten, maggot infested carcass, it still must be rancid as all hell. You have to suspend a little disbelief there, because if the heart no longer pumps, the whole thing becomes a festering bag of rotting, blood soaked meat & entrails. To suspend my disbelief a little, I consider the possibility that since the mass population of mankind, consisting of billions of zombified people, are smelling like that, perhaps the whole stinking countryside reeks of it now. There's a horrible fucking thought I doubt it. I'm not going to say it's 100% out of the question, but he looks mighty healthy in the teaser for next week. Jim was worthless after less than a day, & looked like crap the morning after the camp got attacked in the night The Gov followed Andrea who had to trek from where she left him to the prison, such that she was tired out when she got there. He had to get in his truck & track her down, take her back to Woodbury, hide her away, make his appearance on main street & then at some point either that day or soon after, take on Merle's assault, after which he has some kind of scene with captive Andrea, & then at some point he marshals his forces & storms the prison. That seems like a lot of stuff to pass for him to not be showing the fever symptoms You never know though |

just like it takes people different amount of times to rise from the dead it could take different amount of time to react to the bite. You could even make a good argument that they've had the virus for so long now they might have more resistance to a bite. |

There's lots of different theories you could throw out, but none have any basis yet. Right now, I'm assuming since he looks fine in the teaser, then he probably is |

.......yay ok, now that that's out of the way, I never did see that Governor shit happening, & Carl is now more like Shane than Rick Edit: & speaking of which, I wonder how the Carl thing will play out now that Woodbury's refuge children have joined the group. Should be bizarre to see actual children when all we've had is the junior Shane running around |

But when carl explained to Rick why it was the right thing to not take any chances he made sense. And I didn't think that kid was really handing over his gun. I expected you to be celebrating that Andrea was dead |

If you'll notice the beginning of my last post, I did... a little. ![]() I can't really celebrate death too much, least of all for someone who had some good intentions, but I can be relieved that there's some sense in the show that recognizes that someone so stupid til the end couldn't survive in this world I mean... dumb til the end. How much time did she waste chatting up a soon to be flesh eater? Women multitask. How about talk & work at the same time for 2 minutes & you'd still be alive? I just hope no one else takes up the moron mantle next season. I'm bored of that crap |

Personally, I'm almost glad the season is over. The haters have sucked most of the joy out of the show for me. I don't know why people continue watching a show just to complain about it. |

I was really losing my love for the show but realized I was just ruining the experience of watching the show by anticipating the bitching I would be reading the next day. |

Hating a character doesn't mean you hate the show. This show in particular wants people to form opinions & judgements about the characters. That's what the whole show boils down to, judging the choices these characters are making in a life & death scenario The show's whole momentum is in continuing to surprise & even infuriate it's viewers, this season specifically, which was more about people's choices than about struggling against zombies. Glen got on my nerves a bit, Rick was hard to deal with, People didn't care for Michonne, & Andrea was king shit of idiocy all season long. That's life. All of them will have ups & downs, successes & tragedies Debate & criticism are healthy & necessary for a show like this. You just have to know how to sift through the chaff, & pick out the things that are worth commenting on, agreeing with, expounding on, or rebutting, all the while recognizing the loons But ultimately if it's going to ruin your experience, then you should limit what you read. It's a big internet, & it's filled primarily with people who think the thing they are thinking is the most important thought ever typed, when it's really just another ripple in an ocean of verbiage. |

One thing that's interesting is how the show will have to take a whole new direction with Rick & crew heading up a whole community now. Each season represents a new kind of take on survival. I wonder how well they be able to hold to that format |

I did see him say that on Taking Dead, but haven't seen that pic. No actually. The spoilers at Trek BBS were genuine. No idea how they surfaced. Leave it to Trekkies to get the dirt. The links are still viewable. Most of them are from "This Sorrowful Life", where Merle Dies, but some are from "Prey" too, where Andrea is on the run. None were from the season finale. The one I thought showed Daryl dying was the last one, but it turned out to be Ben, from Tyrese's group. Looked a lot like Daryl lying there though, until I realized it was him in the foreground http://i.imgur.com/J2T0NTN.png http://i.imgur.com/PVCDWp9.png http://i.imgur.com/DTX42OC.png http://i.imgur.com/dcEwC1P.jpg http://i.imgur.com/4pFaYkq.png http://i.imgur.com/ZsaAuwj.png http://i.imgur.com/M45Zbg8.png http://i.imgur.com/9kIsj2B.png http://i.imgur.com/idjwRLs.jpg http://i.imgur.com/a6UZBMs.jpg http://i.imgur.com/06iFULZ.jpg http://nimga.com/m/J1CRp.png http://i.imgur.com/Ptv3zXh.png http://i.imgur.com/SjuIRZV.png http://nimga.com/m/k2yKZ.png http://i.imgur.com/4JxmA7c.png |

LOL You're welcome I only copied them from the initial BBS post, which I was actually looking at yesterday for a different reason I wanted to refer back to Zombie Merle. It just seems like he's too zombie looking for only being dead for a couple hours or so. (Like they were amping the effect for sentiment) I was going to point out to someone over there that the show's makeup is somewhat inconsistent in that regard, because they were saying that the reason zombies don't try to climb the prison fences, like the ones did in season one is because it's been a year, & they're more decomposed, & they sited the makeup as a sign of that. ![]() I mean c'mon, there is no way to judge the completely fictitious decay factor of tv zombies. lol. By all rights, a real corpse exposed to the Georgia weather would be nothing but raw hide on a skeleton after a year. After about 2 paragraphs of trying to type it out, I realized how stupid the whole conversation was, & just dumped it all & left |

Bones don't get brittle for years. I chalk that one up to something infection related. Since it's a fictitious disease, then that ought to be the focal point for any abnormalities that follow. Somehow it speeds up bone degeneration, but slows muscle, tissue & organ degeneration ![]() The real tough one is that there's like 11/2 gallons of blood in the body. When the heart stops pumping it, gravity settles it to the lowest point. All the walkers' feet should be blood filled meat sacks the size of milk jugs Well maybe that's exaggerating, but perhaps that could explain why they walk like they do. lol |
