she would have told Daryl that merle was alive. And given that they are all wandering around such a small area I'm sure andrea would have found the prison on her own.

and it would have been a far less interesting season.

Right, Andrea & Michonne would have probably found the prison, & maybe Tyrese's people too. I'm not talking about the show, I'm just hypothesizing about the actions of the people, & Andrea wouldn't tell Daryl about Merle if they had been to the ones to kill him. They might keep that secret a while.

Ultimately, what I'm saying is that a lot of what has happened is directly because of what Andrea has or has not done. She let herself be lied to and manipulated, & she didn't back up someone she'd been with for the better part of a year. Her weaker character traits have shaped this whole season, & where they haven't, Rick's have

Maybe, but I don't think there is any way that these two groups wouldn't have run into each other given that they are in such a small geographical area and hemmed in by herds. It's surprising they havn't all ready run into each other.

That's true too, but if it were like I described, the prison folk would have better odds, & Andrea wouldn't be in such an awful position mainly because she was a sucker

As it stands, they need a miracle. Did you see the trailers for next week? Rick, Carl & Michonne come across someone new, who looks like a wacko or something

After watching the trailer again, I take that back. Maybe he just looks incredibly desperate, which makes him look crazed. People have been surmising that he could be the survivor from the season 3 webisodes

It did seem really unrelated compared to the previous series about the torso zombie. It would be cool to do something different with it like that

I can't stand that woman. I'm only half way through the episode. Nothing redeeming yet.

Rick really fucked up by being insane. Tyrese is a bad ass and they should have kept them. Herschel should have whacked him on the head with a crutch.

Nope,

I absolutely hate her. One of the worst characters on tv of all time, for me.

Self-absorbed, sanctimonious, naive little twit.

I think, or at least it would be cool, to see Merle's redemption be through Herschel. I can see those two getting close.

Merle is poison. Any attempt to detract from that is a ruse. As a human being he has a sense of self preservation, and anything he does is to that purpose, but he is nevertheless poison, & the poison will always come to the surface

He would have eventually gotten himself screwed with the Governor regardless, & his brother telling him to go to hell is right around the corner, & has been a long time coming. He is a cancer where ever he goes, because his only way to raise himself up is by bringing others down

This is not a forgiving world in which they live (Unless you're Andrea I guess) Merle's way will get him killed eventually, because now more than ever, he must depend on others for his survival

But even that will not stop him from poisoning this situation at some point, because ultimately he will never see this version of his brother as anything but having been polluted with pussy liberalism.

His mistake is that he views what his brother has become as making him weaker, when in fact it makes him stronger, stronger than Merle has ever been or will ever be. If Merle ever realizes that, he'll be jealous, because he is a small pitiful coward hiding behind ruggedness & ruthlessness

His only redemption would be to finally realize what a piece of shit he has been his whole life & then die trying to do something for someone else for a change. It's more likely he'll end up getting Hershel killed

Incidentally... I love Carol. She is officially the oldest screen character I've ever had a crush on (47)

I don't know man. He showed a real moment of vulnerability when he saw the scars on Daryl's back. if he was that dead inside, he would have ripped on Daryl for being a pussy and not taking it like he did, or something. Which is what he typically does with other things. But, that was something real deep and personal and felt for his brother, and possibly a little regret. There's something deep and dark inside both of them that's not of their making.

Recall that both were going to rob the camp blind, which demonstrates to me that Daryl was a crooked little fuck at one time too. Something in that group pulled him away from his darkness. For that reason, I don't think Merle is beyond redemption. He just needs his come to Jesus moment(s) / mentor.

Andrea is scum.

What were you expecting? Running toward each other on a breezy beach? :p

That they had a scene together was enough, & it was a good scene. It's a start

Beforehand thoughts of the week...
No show ever had something nice done by a guy in an eye patch
If they kill off that adorable little singing blonde girl, I may have to execute someone

That could have just been the best episode of the season. Even if that's the last time we see him, it was well worth it

Best joke of the night. "Now where do they find a picture of Shane, so Judith will know what her dad looks like?"

Yes & Yes. It was also good to see Carl still thinking like a kid

On Talking Dead, they spoke a lot about the direct correlation between what they did to the hitchhiker & what has become of Morgan. The moral of the story is that the more you shut people out, the more alone you end up, & even if you can manage to keep your pulse beating on your own, you will never be ok on your own. This is why this story was particularly relative to both Rick & Michonne

I think this was the detour back from crazy town Rick needed, & it did a lot to break down this emotionless stigma Michonne has had. She hasn't been without emotion. She's been shut down because the one person she reached out to in this whole year... turn her back on the real thing they had, to go blindly into something that was obviously a facade run by a mad man

I figure everybody is on the same page now, except Daryl, who's still made himself something of the outsider, until he gets past this brother thing somehow... Oh & Andrea, who's still an idiot, by the look of next week's trailer
