replaced? you mean died or recast? and andrea drank the tea there has to be some, so far, hidden reason all those people are willing to be so docile when they have this leader who won't even tell them his name. At the moment I'm thinking it has something to do with the tea. Though it could be he's been throwing people over the wall all winter who dared to speak up to him. he looks like he even has merle scared. |

Killed off, written off or just retired for the sake of moving onto another group. I'll never think recasting a part is a good idea, & in a show like this it's completely unnecessary, when you have those other three options
but still though... I'm not positive there's anything to the tea theory, but it would explain Andrea's sudden desire to capitulate to this situation. Especially given what we know of her character, having a tendency to be something of an outcast in a group. It's sure had Michonne throwing odd glances at her, like "WTF has gotten into you?" kind of looks that kept popping up
This may be a coordinated effort to make Merle a more sympathetic character, because in the end, Merle is an ignorant bigot, & much like many people, allowed some of his psychotic tendencies to get the better of him in this new world (Shane anyone?)But I'm thinking now that he's not completely maniacal & blood thirsty like a guy with a room full of decapitated heads stewing in fish bowls is, & even if Merle is dangerous, that scary bastard has him walking the straight & narrow line |

I think merle is a bully and an uneducated oaf. Maybe he's just out bullied now. but he's not insane or completely unable to show empathy. The Governor looked like he jizzed in his pants when he clubbed that national guardsman to death. I watched the show again tonight and they all drink the tea. Even the governor. I also noticed that merle seemed to deliberately give the governor the impression that Andrea had told him Daryl was dead. Marchone was even more annoying on a second watch. She glared and rolled her eyes and grimaced constantly. Watching her was the only time I've ever felt like I was watching a comic book come to life. It feels campy. I payed attention to Andrea flirting as well, and I think she is just a flirty southern belle type who is trying to get more information seems to me there are lot of people walking around this town doing nothing. You would htink they would all be working flat out to be able to produce food. seems strange to me too that the guardsman had no civilians with them at all. and I've been thinking about your new cast idea and really, since time stands still the moment the plague starts they could just start over from the begining with a new group. |

Right, in fact that would be preferable if we're starting a new group, because since they're all survivors, it stands to reason that watching them from the beginning would be better I doubt that'll happen though, because shows tend to want a linear approach. They'll just bring in new people, like they did with Hershel's family & Michonne, as the events progress, & probably through in some back story as they go They really do have carte blanche in how to do this show |

Really? Just then? Not Merle sawing off his whole hand instead of a thumb or breaking his hand? Or Rick riding into an obviously deserted Atlanta? It's zombies. As dramatic as they try to make it. Zombies is campy, which is part of the fun |

I didn't much like the last episode. It felt more like a sneak preview of a full episode. Or one of those extra 10 min webisodes you sometimes get. Don't know if I like the track of an evil nemesis, man v man and all that, either. VC, I'm not so sure I understand what you mean. IMO, besides a few major events, the graphic novels (as us men like to say) are very different. Not any better or worse, but different. |

I could just imagine the closeups of her face grimacing as a comic book panel. Nothing else really came accross as comic booky to me |

I kind of saw that one coming, though it was still pretty powerfully done. It was the other that caught me by surprise. I'm sure whatsherface is fine & just holed up somewhere like a church mouse. So perhaps Rick wasn't too immoral in his actions after all. In fact, had he acted with a little more vigilance, lives might not have been lost, important lives Kind of makes you think a lot more about my notion that this show could write off all it's original main characters & still be interesting. We're down to six left from the pilot now. Seven if you include Merle. It makes me wonder if we'll ever get Morgan back. A familiar face might be nice Also a Brit playing American BTW Andrea is an idiot & Merle's judgement on what defines a man as being "A good man" is highly debatable, imo Has anyone else here noticed that Daryl's bike has a Nazi emblem on it? Ironically enough, I'm pretty sure the bike belongs to Merle |

She played a posh British thief in the show, "Supernatural". Another favorite of mine. Twice as beautiful in that show. |

I totally didn't see the second one coming. and Rick culpability can be seen two ways. Either he wasn't viligent enough and didn't kill him his self, or if he'd show a bit of mercy none of this would have happened. |

Points of dialog continue to have the other two convicts speaking about Andrew as though he was just as bad as Tomas. It's pretty fair to say Rick was just, although not vigilant enough, & that the group should never have trusted the guy, when one of the guys living with him for nearly a year is willing to execute him instead of Rick Clearly there was going to be no peaceful coexistence, as I see it. One thing's for sure. I figure that some trust can be extended to the guy who spared Rick. I'm a little worried about the other guy though. He's kind of spineless... the kind of guy who might not have your back, which can be just as dangerous as being against them |

I loved Daryl and Rick talking about them. Daryl: I grew up with these guys. I could be these guys. They're not psychopaths Rick: so should we let them in? Daryl: no |

There's a fundamental philosophy there & they all know it now. Are they decent human beings? Yes (unlike those other cons, who were cutthroats, as were the Season 2 guys at the bar) Do we trust them with our lives? Hell no. That kind of trust is earned. The big guy, (Oscar) who gunned down the other con, Has earned it now. The little guy (Axel) hasn't, & he's reading like a bit of a coward, who'd bail on them in a tough spot. If he plans to survive in this world, he needs to man up & get some backbone & honor, or they'll need to kick him to the curb More on the writing off of original cast members... I'd prefer it if there was at least one original cast member to survive until the end of the show, even though I'm not positive that will be the case If you could choose only one of the remaining 7 characters from the original cast to make it all the way... who would it be? My choice would be Glenn |

One thing is for certain, zombie gore aside, I don't recall any tv show in history that ever depicted a more graphic birth scene She seemed to "Die" rather quickly from an abdominal wound though. When it happened, I just thought she had lost consciousness, kind of like Hershel did when they severed his leg Did anyone even check her fucking pulse before she got executed? |

I mean as far as the places they go... they are mixing up what characters are where... like Blondie wasn't with michone (sp) and when people die... but its not like they are transitioning to a new group as I thought I red.. it is following the basic plot points of the comic book/graphic novel... just really messed up lol |
