Then you should probably not watch this season's webisodes. Arnst from "Lost" is basically keeping an ex-coworker as a sex slave in a fortified storage unit complex Ultimately, there's only one reason to tell a dramatic & fantastical tale like this, & that's to depict the greatest heights & lowest depths of human character, & from what I can tell, this show doesn't shy away from any of that. If the human race faced extinction like this, & began tearing itself apart, the immoral & opportunistic would have the advantage, & at some level everyone must become a mercenary to survive, & even the moral people like Rick will have to devise some new standards for themselves Rick's best line of season 2. "I hear Nebraska's nice" That was a far cry from the guy who went back to rescue Merle. |

it makes sense. Right now very small groups of people have the advantage because they are mobile and not encumbered with too much stuff. This favours the lawless and the immoral becuase they can slash and burn anything they come accross and move on. Later if there were to be less zombies and larger groups of people putting down permanent roots to build an infraestructure and farm the moral and just side of society will be an advantage because larger groups of people living together requires more cooperation and rules. |

That's never going to be. There's a really specific plot point this series has that most other Zombie Apocalypse stories never do. Everyone is infected Zombification happens to everyone in this paradygm & there's no established system to deal with that. It's such a simple little plot point, but it changes everything about their world. Jenner (CDC Guy) Has it pegged. This is the extinction event The one thing every human does eventually is dies, and the only condition necessary for this plague to continue is death. So unless there is a coordinated effort that has the capability to address every single death as it happens, the zombie plague will continue to inhabit the Earth, all the while depleting human numbers or just outlasting the natural lives of its human inhabitants Before this turn of events, I use to postulate where to find safe harbor, & rebuild, an elaborate plan to establish an island colony & such, but on this show, there really is no hope of that. Nowhere is safe. Everyone on Earth, & in your group is doomed to become a zombie, unless they're put down in time, when they die It truly is the end of days for these people, & in that situation, you have as much to fear from the other people as you do from the walking dead |

Once there are less zombies your chances are a whole lot better. Especially since they now know death = zombies. Compare it to humans figuring out that leaving dead bodies lying around meant certain death. Once we learned that and developed a way to dispose of bodies it stopped (for the most part) being an issue. Once the current over population of zombies is eradicated or reduced to a managable level (either through killing them or decomposition) and people begin to live in communities smashing people's heads in will become part of the death ritual. Since the vast majority of people in a stable community die with others around only the occasional rogue zombie is going to be an issue. |

That's the conundrum. A modern societal infrastructure is needed to eradicate the zombie infestation. Society is gone, & as we've seen in last season, the herds are beginning to wander from the metropolitan areas The coordination necessary to deal with that is gone, & the already outnumbered human head count will continue to deplete There has to be some kind of major event to effect a change in this situation, a cure, or a weapon that quells the global infestation. Unless that happens, humanity is a loss |

They play it twice even ![]() It plays again at midnight. Watch it! My review is that it was good. Finally what's left of the group begin to act like actual battle worn survivors, although they spend a lot of time with their fingers sticking through chain link fences. Not too bright there But it was enough to keep me interested. Lets' hope they keep it that way |

I thought it was great. Loved the elapsed time and the differences in everyone. Especially Carl. I actually even felt sorry for Lori. The executive producer was on Talking Dead afterwards. He said they built the set before he wrote the show and he walked through it to get an idea of how Rick would take it. |

I figure there'll be a concerted effort to get everyone to sympathize with her, which shouldn't be hard. She's a noticeably pregnant woman in the Zombie Apocalypse They'll get everyone to feel bad for her, Rick will finally start to come around, & then...

maybe as for the Carl/ Beth thing, I don't for a minute believe the crush that Carl obviously had going on was anything other than a way for the writers to point out that he's not the child he was anymore. But no matter what the age of the actress who plays her, the character Beth has been portrayed as a girl in her late teens. I can totally see them being a couple in 5 years or so. Conventional relationships are going to have to go out the window now that there isn't many fish in the sea anymore. |

It was still absurd to ask. I'm going to start an end of the world philosophical checklist 1. If you're short on food, & find some that won't make you sick... you eat it. (I don't care if the can says dog on it... I don't care if it has dog IN it!) 2. Anyone worth being around is worth sticking around for. (Maybe you can do this on your own, but you should only bother trying if you have no other choice) 3. That said... Respect is free of charge, but trust is earned, & neither are fully regainable. So don't fuck it up 4. The lowliest of scavengers is by far better than greatest of marauders That'll do to start |
