You know you've done it. Googled something that you should have known but rather than think of it yourself, you just typed it in and got the internet answer. And not just something you should have known, but a query that you would quickly minimize if someone popped in on you.

I do easy words sometimes like guard and sandwich to make sure I spell them in a suggested way.

Though the actual terms would mean nothing to most of you, I've been in conferences or classes of stuff I know, the speaker invariably hits something that everyone else just nods in agreement as he keeps going while I have to do a quick search. Probably no one else knew, but still, it isn't something you want the guy behind you to see what you are doing.

i usually think; "i should know this."

mostly it's for spelling, but if you can't spell the
word how can you look it up? :wissa:

I've found 2 ways. You either get close and see what the recommended spelling is,

or

you search multiple spellings and see which has the most search results.

That second method is not fool proof

I use it for spelling. I type in some mangled mess and it says

"did you mean _______" and gives me the right spelling.

Am I the only one that just opens a word document and uses spellcheck?

Then again, that might be because I get American spellings if I use Google. :pfft:

Live long and prosper.....!!

Like Magenta, I use a spellchecker if there's something am not sure about. There's a button on the toolbar for this, says Check.

I usually Google for stuff that interests me at that time or something I've wondered about for a while, and finally got around to finding out about it.

What's more embarrassing is when you put something like '10 x 5' or 15 + 30' into a calculator and realise how stupid you look just as you're pressing equal.

I've googled that too

Spellcheck on Word takes too long if I don't have it open already, but Google likes my american spellings

With how I remember lyrics, that would be pretty embarassing if someone saw me do a search for what I think the lyric is.

I haven't figured out how to tell a search engine what bmm bop, mm, b, mm, mop sounds like to get a good hit with the only way I remember songs.

Unfortunately, I don't keep messageboards open at work to take advantage of my browser spellcheck.

I google everything!! history, movies, books, science, sex... you name it!

Like others mentioned spelling and song lyrics are at the top of my list!

My browser has Spell check..but sometimes I mess the word up so bad that my regular spell check cant fix it!

like I always want to spell the word "especially" but it comes out "espically" ... and spell check tries to turn in into "epically"

unfortunately I just had to learn how to correctly spell "especially." :violet:
All my posts are done from my tablet. I apologize for all strange errors in my posts... as swype hates me. :violet:
