Phase pistols have two settings: stun and kill.

Please Remember to "Stamp Out Hunger!" with the U.S. Postal Service!!

The NALC (National Association of Letter Carriers) and the U.S. Postal Service will collect non-perishable food items on SATURDAY, MAY 8, 2010 in their annual "Stamp Out Hunger!" National Food Drive to benefit food banks in your area. Check with your local letter carrier to verify if carriers are picking up bags at customers' homes, or if there are drop-off boxes at your local post office.

Please donate! You don't have to give much--a NON-PERISHABLE box of breakfast cereal, a few cans of soup or vegetables, a box of rice or potato flakes, cans of tuna, chicken, corned beef hash, or chili (remember, store brands are okay, less expensive, and you can buy more food for the same amount of money)!!

On Saturday, May 8, bag the NON-PERISHABLE items in a waterproof shopping bag, just it case it's raining (or flooding) in your area, and put it in your mailbox (if you have a humungous roadside delivery box), on your porch, or by your door. Please remember to leave a note for your carrier to tell him/her that you have a bag of food for the drive!

PLEASE DONATE!!! Local food banks are being deluged with requests for assistance because of the ongoing economic downturn. Even if you can't afford to donate much, every box and can you do give will be greatly appreciated!!

P.S: the NALC/USPS "Stamp Out Hunger!" National Food Drive is always held on the day before Mothers' Day, but check with your local post office, just in case!

Thank You for Your Help, Best Wishes, Peace and Long Life, Live Long and Prosper!!!

pps: how did you know that my ever-logical spouse, Semek, is a letter carrier?! ;D

Live long and prosper.....!!

Sadly, am not in the US to support this project, otherwise I would do and be happy to do so. I think it's a great idea, and wish the organisers and everybody connected to it the best of luck. If you can support this project then please do so.
R.I.P. Gummy, we'll miss you bro

I started posting the message to all the Yahoo-groups I'm on (most of them are moribund, but a couple are still busy), and then I realized I couldn't go back to edit and specify that it was for the U.S. only. If you don't live in the U.S., there's always international relief organizations someone can send a few pounds, yen, francs, CAN dollars, AU dollars, NZ dollars, lira, etc.

Habitat for Humanity has an international section--I didn't know that until I heard they sent a crew of volunteers down to Haiti to help with the cleanup and rebuilding efforts.

Save the Children is worldwide; Heifer International is also worldwide; UNICEF--I'm rather sure most Trek actors have a cause near 'n' dear to them.

Pick what you're interested in: I joke with my mom about bunnies all the time because when she used to have a flower/herb/vegetable garden, she used to have wild rabbits in the garden. So, for all these gift-giving occasions through the year, I ask her what she wants and she says 'nothing', so I fixed that: For every time I ask her what she wants and she says nothing, I get her a bunny--not a real one, a plushie, or sculpture, or a card, or a donation to Heifer to buy rabbits because in a lot of developing nations, they're a small meat source, their fur is used for yarn, and they breed real fast, or a Christmas ornament (Hallmark is wonderful), or--you can go hog-wild (or is that bunny-wild?! ) around Easter with everything bunny-esque. Now she knows better and she told me what she wants for Mothers' Day...

I was supposed to be in bed by midnight, 'cus we're driving to visit my mom tomorrow-today, and I am so dead...
