Fish (with chips), prawns, crab meat, lobster that's about it. Shellfish I've had before but don't like, or more 'exotic' stuff like shark or blowfish, I'll pass !!

what is a prawn?

A Prawn is a Shrimp, just different term for different territories.

prawns generaly are big shrimp.
that's why they cost more

the words are interchangable apperently

There can be only one

I only do swimmy-type fish as raw sushi
Walky-type seafood (lobster, crab, shrimp) get cooked
Mussels, clams, scallops cooked
Oysters - Raw and chilled

I only like large shrimp - 12-16 count minimum

Randomer than you since 1992

I love fish- especially perch, dory and whiting. I hate barramundi! Sadly that's the most common fish around where I live.
Crab is yummy and prawns and scallops are ok, but I can't stand octopus, squid, mussels, clams or oysters.
I've never had lobster, but it sounds like it would be yummy.

Never had Lobster?

Wow.

I guess I was more lucky then others, as lobster was pretty frequent and available for me growing up. Every time we headed to the south shore, somebody had lobster cooking in one form or another.

Though the ironic thing is when my mother was growing up, they used to have lobster sandwiches in their lunch for school and the other kids made fun of her and the family because back when she was growing up, Lobster was considered a "poor man's food."

Now it's more of an upper class thing if you can get lobster.

I'd have to say Lobster was always my favorite sea food. If you ever get the chance, I'd suggest trying it at least once, but make sure whoever's cooking it is experienced.

Over cooked lobster is kinda rubbery and tough.... undercooked is runny and the meat doesn't seem to go full size.

Also, if anybody decides to cook lobster on their own, the #1 rule above all others is to make sure you take those rubber bands off the claws before cooking.... otherwise for some reason all the meat will taste like rubber and when that happens, you might as well throw it out, because it's just not good.

The seafood section of the stores look like a abandoned warehouse. The shelves are totally empty and no explanation.

I tried a mussel the other day. My boss' hot 25 year old daughter was impressed that I tried one, but I won't be popping them as casually as she was. My stomach just started turning again.

While I really don't like any seafood, I also tried swordfish which wasn't bad.

Do you like it? what are your favorites? why dont you like it?

I like some seafood... like shrimp and Lobster... but mostly it wigs me out!

especially if I see it before its cooked! Shrimp are all grey and look like giant insects...
:magstar:
but they taste so yummy when they are pink and cooked.....

LOVE snow crab legs... but goodness they are so much work to eat!
again I feel like Im eating a giant insect...

Because they are!!!!!

Well, cousins. I won't eat any water borne slugs, aka clams or scallops, or any water born spiders and scorpions, aka crabs and lobsters.

Cod, that's it. Heavy beer batter with fries and lots of lemon and malt vinegar.

You're welcome.

I know it's hard to take, but I'm hear to help all of you. And just one more thing. When you step on a really big spider, what color is some of the "meat"/juices that come out? White. What color is the meat that comes out of the lobster tail and crab legs... white.

I'm looking out for you all. I don't want you all to unwittingly become an Andrew Zimmerman.

I have never eaten seafoods such as that before and now I have you to thank for re-enforcing that personal belief.

whatever...lobster still tastes good, along with a lot of other shellfish.

Did you know that pearls are the end result of oysters fighting off an infection or foreign body? Stew on that for a while the next time you wear them.
