He was also on WABC Radio in New York City several years ago. He used to bitch and scream at his staff and sometimes it was heard over the air. He also accused Don Imus and Howard Stern of leaving the studio a mess. |

Amy Winehouse. When they are canceling tours, and cutting shows short, because you're stumbling though them wasted to the point of incoherence, I think it's fair to say that this was a person who was a train wreck waiting to happen While it may not be fair or prudent to call this an overdose as of yet. I think it is fair to say this death, which occurred in her bed while sleeping, was drug abuse related. May there be peace for her in death that she certainly did not find in life |

Amy Crackhouse (sorry, Winehouse). Anybody who lived that life, certainly expected that death - if they didn't, then they were just deluding themselves. Like Elvis, she'll probably make more money dead, than she ever did alive !! |

Thanks Pondy, appreciate that !! Am not gonna apologise. Amy Winehouse died the way she lived - a train wreck waiting to happen - she knew that, hell plenty of close friends and others who cared told her that often enough, yet she continued to live her life as if she was bullet-proof !! Had she died from a disease such as AIDS, or a car crash for example, then ok I'd be a lot more sympathetic. |

human life is human life, being a buddist i would expect better of you. (i am editing this just a bit) my time here on the farm has softened me somewhat. i see life in a whole new way and i appreciate it way more now than i did before. just because someone loses their life to drugs and/or alcohol does not mean that their life was any less important. the way they lived it maybe, and regardless of that, she was still someones child and they are grieving her loss. i guess it goes back to the old saying, " if you cant say anything nice, dont say anything at all." there have been celebs that have passed that i didnt like, but that is no reason to trash them even if i think they are trash. |

I think since Paul lives in England and has read or had force fed down his throat( not being able to avoid) the media images of her degradation and downfall......makes him a bit less sensitive and probably...Thank God, we won't be having to hear about this anymore. Maybe he see's Amy Winehouse as an embarrassment to England.... Lord knows..we have enough embarrassments of our own in many regards. I have sympathy the way puppy does because she was not in that pit of horror she put herself in if she was not a tormented soul. Her two biggest hits sound awfully biographical. 'I'm No Good' & 'I Won't Go to Rehab'. It seems she gotten way out of control after her Grammy wins. Maybe she really could not come to grips with the pressures of fame. You do something that is critically received and very successful, the public buys your record in droves.......but, deep down inside you feel that somehow you are a sham...you are not deserving of all the hype and praise...that you feel you really are no good......you do not know how to deal with everyone telling you how wonderful you are because you feel the total opposite.....and, you have NO IDEA how you are supposed to top yourself after your last great success of winning five Grammys and knocking England and the States dead. Instead of your entire success making you feel great it makes you feel horrible & bad because you have such pressures to top it and you don't think you can. This happened to me once.....of course, in a much smaller audience, so, scaled down by a million and I felt like crap. Instead of being able to enjoy my 'out -of-nowhere success' I felt horrible feeling I should produce more...and, that I let people down thinking I couldn't. I am just magnifying what happened to me and putting it on her. Of course, I could be way off base not knowing her at all. |

I posted this on st.com in response to some nasty comments and will make the same post here. Almost all the major disease killers in our society are self inflicted. Why do they deserve mourning but she doesn't? |

Yes, am a Buddhist. And one thing we realise is that everybody is ultimately responsible for the way their own lives turn out, with respect to their upbringing, and Amy Winehouse (who was brought up right, apparently) seemed more interested in her own pleasures, than how her life would progress !! As Donna said, while living in the UK - and thanks to the media - we were almost force-fed on a daily basis on Amy Winehouse's latest depravities, likewise other so-called 'celebs'. If they are happy to destroy their lives to make headlines, then so be it. So if I seem somewhat less than charitable, that's the way it is, and am not gonna lose any sleep about it !! |

I know I hear the media in England is insane regarding lack of space and respect for the rich and famous. Way worse than the States and we are pretty bad. I can only imagine the inundation......which did not do a thing to help that girl out either. The public spotlight can be ones own worst enemy if you are not ready for it. |

Donna --> Yeah, exactly hon !! ![]() Slutpuppy --> Yeah, well her karma certainly caught up with her. The expression about reaping and sowing, also would apply !! Am sorry if I come across as cold-hearted, I think have proven over the years that am not, but neither am I gonna pretend to feel sorry for somebody who wouldn't have wanted it. I'd much rather show symapthy to those who deserve it more, the victims in Norway for example, who's only 'crime' was being in the wrong place at the wrong time, and certainly didn't deserve to end that way !! |

i never once said pretend to have sympathy for her, i did say have sympathy for her family. and honestly the mean comments didnt need to be said. you could have simply stated that you are not a fan and that you feel for her family. Sentient beings crave pleasure and are averse to pain from birth to death. In being controlled by these attitudes, they perpetuate the cycle of conditioned existence and suffering (saṃsāra), and produce the causes and conditions of the next rebirth after death. Each rebirth repeats this process in an involuntary cycle, which Buddhists strive to end by eradicating these causes and conditions, applying the methods laid out by the Buddha and subsequent Buddhists. 1.Life as we know it ultimately is or leads to suffering/uneasiness (dukkha) in one way or another. 2.Suffering is caused by craving. This is often expressed as a deluded clinging to a certain sense of existence, to selfhood, or to the things or phenomena that we consider the cause of happiness or unhappiness. Craving also has its negative aspect, i.e. one craves that a certain state of affairs not exist. 3.Suffering ends when craving ends. This is achieved by eliminating delusion, thereby reaching a liberated state of Enlightenment (bodhi); 4.Reaching this liberated state is achieved by following the path laid out by the Buddha so she never reached the liberated state of enlightenment. apparently she was still dealing with the craving issue, that she had no conrtol over since it was an involuntary cycle. oh and this bs about the media forcing it down your throat, you can turn the tv off, not read a newspaper and they make mp3 players now. its what you choose to sow. my comments are what you are reaping now. oh and when did you move back to the uk? i thought you were still in ny with the wife. |
