I wouldn't doubt that something like that could happen. The him living part is bizarre. In order for his body to impact hers such that it would kill her, by crushing or impaling something, it would create just as much force on his body too, & leave him in a considerably damaged state also. Though, like I said, it might be possible for him to survive it, & perhaps we're talking about a very young child

Would you even want to though? :(

I'm a firm supporter of the fact that if it is legal to ride a motorcycle, which is inevitably an uncontrollable death or debilitation on wheels, then we have a rule of law that supports people placing their own lives at risk, & therefore seat belts shouldn't be mandatory. That's America. We have freedom, & that's one of them. It's your life. If you want to do things that puts your life at risk, so be it

Unless, there are passengers in the car, especially children. Now you are placing their lives in danger. Use your head

If you have passengers, everybody must be belted in, it's not just about you anymore

But people who don't wear seat-belts cost the rest of us money when they get into an accident. Wether they're insured or not.

If they get into an accident.

There is a difference between being responsible and being a douche.

If you're not wearing your seat-belt you're a douche. If you're driving like a maniac (car or motor cycle) you're a douche. If you're not wearing a helmet, you're a douche.

Responsible people get into accidents sometimes but the bill is usually smaller and the accident was usually caused by a douche.

NH is the only state that not wearing a seat belt is legal, but I feel uncomfortable not wearing one.
You know, there are some words I've known since I was a schoolboy: "With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censured, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably." Those words were uttered by Judge Aaron Satie, as wisdom and warning. The first time any man's freedom is trodden on, we're all damaged.

Georgia has a pickup truck exemption on seat belts and it is estimated that we spend $20 million in medicaid alone. It seems I've also seen some stats on multi-car crashes have worse effects for all parties when someone isn't wearing a seatbelt. Probably related to the poor guy that was thrown around hard enough to kill his granddaughter.

Yes, she was in a car seat I think.

It should at least be a law that minors have to be in seatbelts

Well said. I'll never understand why people refuse to wear seat belts or helmets when it comes to motorcycles.
