I knew all along they weren't the same, even if they didn't What surprised me was Deb not finding out, but I suppose that makes a kind of sense too. Interesting how things worked out for Quinn. It's obvious he knows Dexter murdered Liddy, but now is somewhat indebted to him

I saw this season as Dexter deluding himself into thinking that was the case. The fact is, Dexter lives a double facade. Lumen made it past the surface Dexter, daddy, brother, coworker guy But she didn't see him for what he truly is. She was consumed by wrath, & when that revenge was completed, her wrathful inclination was gone. Dexter is not consumed by wrath. That was the facade Harry created for him, the wrathful vigilante. It was a two-fold plan The vigilante wrath would serve to protect innocent people from the homicidal Dexter, AND were he ever to be discovered, (as has been the case) people would likely mistake his behavior as being consumed by wrath, instead of the horrible truth, bloodlust. That is the face of his dark passenger, & the only people who have ever realized that about him are the very smart ones, who have ended up on the table, like Trinity Harry made Dexter into a serial killer, yes. The reason he did it was because it was the only way he knew how to control the bloodlust, which has been there all along. Lumen saw everything, except what was in Dexter's mind...The why.The reason why is that Dexter, like his brother, hungers for bloodlust If Lumen had realized that, she likely would have thought him monstrous. I still think he is, even if he & everybody else have stopped thinking so. People need to stop thinking he kills, seeking revenge for his mother or something. He kills because he delights in it. He has known this all along

That being in a family that loved him would have healed him if he was given a chance. That is did heal him and harry convinced him he had no choice but to kill. That is why his "dark passenger" takes on the form of harry but your point of view is probably more valid.

Us..... Posts: 2,891 Group: 1000 Post angel Member #1,414 Joined: November 1, 2007	I am one season behind you guys watching 'Dexter'. I have one question. Is his wife really dead in that bathtub? Did the writers really kill her off? It took a year for the info to filter in that the wife died in the series. I had no idea how (thank god). Of course, I started to have idea's John lithgow would be responsible. Then, (knowing she was gonna be found dead) I thought maybe it would be a plane or car accident when Dexter had him on his table. I was horrified to see her dead in the tub. The only thing I want to know is....did she really die....or, was she perhaps still alive in the tub and survived. No other details please. Thank you...
	And....the kids!

Hard to imagine what the hell he is going to do raising all those kids alone. The wife was a terrific Mom and homemaker. That really, really sucks!
