One thing that surprised me though, Locke had a lot to go back to.  Why was he so content to stay on the island?

Because in that reality, there was no Helen. He was calling phone sex operators, & calling them Helen. She left him, because he couldn't let go of the daddy issue, which in this reality he no longer seems to have, since they plan to invite him to the wedding. All things seem to be different in the AU, except that Locke still somehow ends up paralyzed

& The blonde kid is probably Jacob, & this whole thing probably goes back to a childhood thing between him & the Man In Black & I'm really starting to wonder if Jacob might be Aaron :mojo:

I tried to watch it online..but it wouldnt "buffer" properly.

what about the new chick.. the one that Jacob pulled out of some hospital thing.. she seems to know a lot more than everyone else...

why did Jacob tell her stuff that he never told anyone else?

so if the present has changed for everyone what changed it? Is it because Jacob didn't touch them or because the accident didn't happen in 1977?

well that was a pretty interesting show. Did we actually get some answers? :mojo: Lots of things covered but I need to think about it a little more.

One thing that surprised me though, Locke had a lot to go back to. Why was he so content to stay on the island?

Maybe because of the cure of his paralyzation. I thought that Helen was just a phone hooker. A relationship he more imagined in his mind.

Fake Locke is freaking me out...
I wonder if he is the devil.... :crying:
And....the kids!

I was wondering that too...

why is everyones lives so different...

It probably has something to do with what Pseudo-Locke said to Sawyer, about Jacob actually leading all of them to the island, throughout their lives. The destruction of the island in the parallel reality changed much of that, & the main cast led their lives with no influences beyond their own, or less, anyway, & for some of them, that meant whole different lives, like Hurley who never used the numbers to play the lottery, thereby never becoming a "cursed" man

I can't say what happened to Locke to make his life different, except that his father is somehow still in his life, & that's a big difference for him. Frankily, Claire & Kate's lives seem somewhat unaltered from what they might have been without having crashed on the island, but Sawyer sure seemed in a good mood, on the alternate 815 flight, especially for a man who just mistakenly murdered someone, & got booted from the country, unless his life is greatly altered too

Walt & Michael?
Christian Shepard?
Charles Widmore?
Des & Penny?

We haven't even begun to scratch the surface yet. So much more has to happen for all this to come together, I imagine

Hurley still played the lottery and won though.. whether or not he used those #'s
He said so on the plane...

I thought Sawyer was happy because he had identified a new target... Hurley!
but it didn't seem to pan out... cause the next scene.. hes with kate in the elevator..

Right, the source of Hurley's belief in being cursed came from using the numbers to win. He couldn't have done so, because Sam Toomey (& Rouseau, for that matter) would not have picked up that transmission from the island. He won anyway, & now believes he's lucky, or so it would seem

Sawyer just seemed a bit different to me, than he should have been if his life we like it was on the original flight. :idon'tknow: I don't think he planned to con Hurley, & the subsequent events after the flight, where Hurley helps Locke out, seems to go along with that assumption. Hurley's lucky. Sawyer is seemingly not hellbent on murder, Claire is welcoming motherhood & Locke is in a relationship & becoming content. Kate is really the only one we've seen continue along like she might have initially, & maybe Jack. Don't know much about him yet, or the Kwons

Somehow, I just can't get all that interested in their alternate realities, it's like the back stories, more character development. It matters, but this will all converge in some way with what's happening on the island, & therefore, I'm so much more interested in wtf is going on there, & has been

I think Claire fits into the "seemingly unchanged" category too...

we actually see the reason she decides to keep the baby...
the adopting family wont/cant take the baby... and she has Kate around to
encourage her.

It seemed like a natural transition.. much different from locke Still having
Helen around.

I'm really not interested much in the alternate realities either. In fact I'm kinda pissed off about them.
