Exactly. There was enough time passed, while the pilot poked his head out of the cockpit, for the monster the make a judgment. Eko's wasn't the same length of time as Ben's was either Duncan Macleod? You've lost me

Right. Richard claimed that Ben would be changed, & not remember anything, though he did seem to have a rather ugly impression of daddy still lingering |

I knew just saying Duncan was too vague, but ![]() Highlander...essentially Richard is immortal and never ages. Frankly, to return that franchise to the greatness of the show would take something like a Lost endorsement. |

No, I know what the character & show are. you just lost me on the connection I just don't feel like Richard is immortal, but I could be wrong. the only thing we have to suggest he is exclusively immortal is Juliet saying he is very old, & that was ridiculously vague Just like all these characters are. They are almost unrealistically vague. If you knew an immortal guy, you'd probably want to talk about that |

so how about him not being human at all but a physical representation of the entity the temple was built for. |

If Juliet knew anything that could explain it, I would think she would talk about it - whether the answer is he is immortal or something else. Since she seems to wait until it is somehow relevant, I would definitely think she would start talking about him being able to timeshift when she was time shifting. |

There is every possibility that she has already told Sawyer some or all of it He certainly seems like he understands a great deal more these days |

also... Juliette has always been vague about things. So her saying "really old" and not "hes and immortal" isn't shocking.. also.. at that point in the show.. such a statement would be ridiculous! |

That's the thing though. Up till now, I'm not really sure you can completely blame anyone's death on Jack. Can anyone think of anybody that Jack directly caused to die? Not indirectly, like Boone, who he couldn't save, or some of the rest who were following his lead & got themselves killed. Plus, anyone who lost their life, because of Jack's actions, he seemingly regrets it Locke straight up flung a knife into Naomi's back. That wasn't a very nice thing to do The smoke monster seems oddly picky, judging Ben for getting Alex killed, but no mention at all of all the damn Dharma people he was involved in killing? |

![]() That is why I don't think the monster works much differently from the island. It doesn't always seem to care about right and wrong from any moral viewpoint outside of the island's needs. Now the deaths on Jack's watch...(mostly so I can test my memory) the Pilot - Jack would have deferred to him, so blame the pilot. Marshall - already fatally wounded. Drowned dude - Since Jack didn't post swim at own risk signs, then I guess Jack can be held responsible. Stan or was it Steve - Judgment call not to bow to hostile demands. Jack made the right decision, it just still had unfortunate results. Boone - Jack was leading, but Boone was following Locke. Artz - Was following Locke and Jack's plan which was rushed because of Locke's other failed plans. Better blamed on Locke. Shannon - Even if Jack was strongly opposed to private gun ownership, he couldn't have done anything to save her. Ana Lucia and Libby - Jack did agree with the idea to keep a prisoner. Need to check up on Sawyer's position. Eko - Off the reservation when he bit it. Pablo and chick - Unrelated to Jack's decisions. Charlie - Charlie lied to get in on a suicide mission Jack didn't agree with. Naomi - Murdered by Locke. In addition, Jack essentially lost Bernard, Jin, and Sayid if it hadn't been for Sawyer going back. Then again, Sawyer only succeeded because of Hurley. While there are some deaths related to Jack's command decisions, putting those deaths on Jack would mean you could put the flaming arrow deaths (6+) on Sawyer's leadership. |

We still need to find out more about Jacob. His name is such a dead end when it's mentioned "Oh well, if Jacob said so, then we should all just shut up now"

Yes, I knew since the season premier that Miles was Pierre's son. Miles is a pretty cool character. I'm glad we're getting more about him. It's about time some of this paranormal stuff came out, & how connected with it Hurley actually is Hurley is one of my favorite tv characters of all time. I think we are really going to like what will come of him. It's destined to be very heart warming, I think Sawyer is too over confident lately, whereas Jack is so mysterious right now I'm also glad Farraday is back. Something tells me he's been doing his homework |

Hurley really is a great character. The shadow of the statue - passcode to identify the new Dharma Initiative? Or an even older group that has been trying to get back to the island. The dead guy in the restaurant cleverly succeeded to not give away who put the plane in the bottom of the ocean. |

Not sure yet, but it seems like people connected to The Others/Hostiles. That comment about the statue, whatever it actually means, just screams to me that they are people who know the earliest history about the island, which predates Dharma Plus, Dharma sure didn't seem like harmless hippies this week, with Horace conducting covert black op execution squad type stuff, on what seems to be previous inhabitants The fact is, we still don't know what brought Dharma to that island, how they found out about it, & what their true intentions were. It's very possible that it's not unrelated to earlier events on the island. Dharma's creation could have been because the Degroots or somebody involved in creating it, were initially island inhabitants that got exiled like Widmore Note the lack of respect that Chang has for the zoological research. It's like he knows that it's nonsense. Most of the scientific stuff is just subterfuge. Chang is there to master the island's temporal properties. Radzinsky is there to master its electromagnetic properties, & Horace is there to reoccupy the island, & retake it from people they may have always known about, from the beginning, & those seem to be their top priorities but it's not too clear |
