So during the three years on the island with no losties.. excpet maybe claire... why didnt the "Others" move into the Barracks?

Why would they? That's the place Dharma built. They either have no interest in that, or as I suspect, they are governed by different rules than other groups on the island, such being why Richard doesn't age. I'm not even sure if they are from the same time, but might just visit these times we see them in

I'm not concerned about Rose & Bernard. They have each other, & I bet that's all they care about, even if they are met with fatality, they're together

Wish I could say the same for Jin & Sun. That's going to be one tough cookie to crack, me thinks

I'm much more worried about Aaron. We don't even know what the hell happened to him. Best case scenario, he got given to his blood grandmother

Worst case... well Kate just shows up at Jack's place after years, falls asleep on his bed probably crying, agrees to return to the island she has been adamant about avoiding, AND demands that Jack never brings it up EVER again!

I have envisioned some bloody awful possibilities of why she'd be acting that way, but I hope he's with his grandmother

I don't think they are time traveling. Otherwise it wouldn't have surprised richard when sawyer knew him

But surprised wouldn't be how I would describe Richard's reaction. more like peculiar fascination, & being put slightly off guard, from wondering how much this person knows about him.

After all, he had been thinking Sawyer was a Dharma twit

but it's only a crackpot theory  lol

Edit: Smilies! :gah:

I found a lost spolier on AOL television

I dont know the correct color to use... so I used Lightgrey...

Two characters will die -- and one's a major surprise. There are rumors that one of the deceased could be Ben or Daniel. By now we know that "dead" on this show doesn't necessarily mean they're off for good, but still it's crushing when one of our faves gets killed off.

Not really, I just never know how deep some of this runs, & Ben knowing these people from childhood hadn't really crossed my mind, until they started time shifting

As for characters possibly dying, I always expect that. I mean, they killed Charlie! Charlie was one of the first 3 to have a flashback in the pilot

this is the final roundup gang. Only one season after this, & I suspect that at least two or more MAJOR characters will die, & it's gonna sting, or there'd be no reason to do it

I wouldn't even put it past them to kill Jack. When they invented the show, it had been planned to kill him off in the beginning, & that thought still crosses my mind

The ugly ain't over yet. this will get insane before we get resolution

that makes no sense for jack to die. Unless we were going to get to know him in flashbacks. Him and christian are too tied to other characters. And suposedly this was all planned in advance.

Well in the premise stages, I don't think they were going to develop the doctor character, like they eventually decided to do, before they got the go ahead to make the pilot. I get the feeling that when they came up with the idea for LOST. Locke was the character they had in mind being the most important

I'd think these were their first character archetypes

The Crippled guy who can miraculously walk
The Hot Chick who is a fugitive from justice
The Rock Star who is a junkie

The Goofy fat guy, who is a millionaire
The Foreign Couple that no one understands
& possibly the Middle Easterner with the sketchy past, & good tech skills

If you think about it, Jack doesn't have any kind of defining characteristic like those others there. He's just a doctor, with every man problems, like an ex-wife, & a dead dad

Once they started writing the show, I bet it all started falling in place though, with Ben & Desmond, & the others, & the tailies, at least being concepts that they were working on adding

I'm thinking more along the lines of him being claire's brother. And christian meeting sawyer in a bar. Or even the whole coffin thing and jack seeing his father everywhere. Why build that back story if he was going to die early.

Like I said, they might never had planned to in the pilot writing stages, which probably went though multiple drafts

I do think Claire was probably in the original idea from the start too. The pregnant girl having to give birth on the island

& Walt might have been in there too. The kid with the special powers

I'm just breaking it down into archetypes, the way it would have been in the pitch stage

and you don't think the hero doctor with the troubled past and the dead father was an archetype? I had read they had the whole first season planned when they started. It isn't like a regular show where they kinda go week by week. Maybe in the early planning stages they had plans on killing jack but by the time the pilot was written they must have changed their minds. Why would they introduce the dead father/ghost if they just planned on getting rid of jack?

I'm not talking about the time of the pilot. I'm talking about the planning & pitching stage. By the time the pilot was shot, at the very least, the whole first season was plotted out, & maybe more, knowing this show

but when they wrote the first drafts & pitched them, Jack was going to end up dead very quickly, but they got negative feedback about that, from the folks they were pitching it to. People identify with Jack the most. He is the every man, so they revamped it to make him the star
