The island appears to be moving each time they jump through time, so I'm betting one of those moves will place the island right under the ship.

And Claire seemed like she joined willingly.

ooh good call. That would explain the ship in the middle of the island.

though, that would mean that the time shifts changed something. And they said you can't change anything that happened.

That isn't quite what they meant. They meant what will be is what was is what is. Essentially, you can't use foreknowledge to change the future by going to the past and anything you do in the past had already been done in your past.

Echo's brothers plane for instance was able to crash on the island because the island moved close to the plane when they jumped to the past.

...........................

this has been exactly what I thought would happen, & yet much of it is beyond what I had imagined

It is amazing. I love this show

Btw, have I mentioned how much I love Hurly. He has become one of my favorite tv characters of all time

Truly impressive stuff :happy1:

Moving through space & time... If you had told me this in season one, I would have thought you were nuts

I can't wait for more :violet:

I'm starting to think that that Richard Alpert, & "The Others" might be the crew of the Black Rock, & that "The Hostiles" that Dharma had spoken of all those years ago, are in fact, the survivors of flight 815

interesting

who do you think was firing the flaming arrows?

Dharma. I think they have developed a way to track the time shifting. Ben was even using it with the white haired lady, at the end

Or at least in this case they can track incursions to the island, even unexplainable ones

I think back in the 70's Dharma figured out that people were coming to the island, & didn't know how. It's still possible that the Losties will go back even further in time, & be more aggressive, because they've been attacked now, & Dharma will respond by treating them as "Hostiles"

One thing I like about this is that the One Eyed Russian guy claimed to know John Locked when they first met, & now we know how that might have happened

this is sure to get messy

Or were they in the future, when the arrow attack came?

I can't remember now dammit.

If they were in the past, then it was probably Dharma, if the future. I'm not sure, maybe Richard Alpert's "Others"

Lost Writers Reveal the Premiere Secrets You Missed!

(E! Online) – If you're a Lost fan, you know that every episode is rich with Easter eggs, winks at the fans and story secrets. We pointed out a few from the premiere in our Lost Redux and Jorge Garcia Q&A, but we just spoke exclusively to Lost coexecutive producers Eddy Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, who wrote Wednesday's second hour ("The Lie"), and they dished on some undiscovered treasures from the premiere.

Find out what you missed, and what surprises the producers have in store for later in the season...

Secrets of Lost's Past, Present and Future

The writers had a little fun with the convenience store scene after Ana-Lucia (Michelle Rodriguez) appeared to Hurley and told him to get his act together. According to Eddy, "A hidden secret was the T-shirt that Hurley was wearing—I heart my Shi Tzu. That was my dog Stewart's debut. I am so proud of him. And I think [executive producer] Jack Bender has a wire terrier [which was one of the other shirts]. And you know what no one caught? The song playing in the background [of the convenience store], 'Dream Police' by Cheap Trick. When Hurley walks in after seeing Ana-Lucia, 'Dream Police' is playing."

As for the future, according to Adam and Eddy, Lost's house band, Geronimo Jackson (first unearthed by music aficionados Charlie and Hurley in the hatch in season two), will be back this season. The return of Geronimo Jackson is the No. 1 thing Adam and Eddy think eager fans should look out for in coming episodes: "Who knows when it's going to appear, and what [song is] going to be on, and what sort of new things we can learn about them."

According to Eddy, the new appearance by G.J. even has a backstory: "There was a guy digging around at a house up in Laurel Canyon [in Los Angeles], and he found some old tracks, and he showed them to some friends in the music industry, and suffice it to say, they got around. Sometime in the future [Lost watchers] might hear a long-lost demo track for Geronimo Jackson's second album, the follow-up to Magna Carta. I've heard it, and it's pretty cool."

Exposé Exposed!

If you're a longtime fan of Lost, you're probably a closet fan of their show-within-a-show, Exposé, the "jiggle TV" caper series on which Oceanic 815 survivor Nikki Fernandez (Kiele Sanchez) appeared with Billy Dee Williams. And if you were paying attention on Wednesday night, you spotted Hurley's dad sitting down for the new season. Adam and Eddy do a little moonlighting as Exposé producers and offered an exclusive preview of the new season to E! Online:

Eddy says, "If you were listening closely to the 'Previously on Exposé,' you learned that there's a new character joining the team, Tsunami, who was their archrival. Tsunami used to work for Cobra, so the question is, how are Crystal, Corvette and Autumn going to deal with Tsunami being introduced? Well, actually Corvette's dead, that was Nikki, but Crystal and Autumn now have to team up with Tsunami, the dragon lady of Van Nuys. And how that plays out is anyone's guess." Adds Adam, "Especially with the Scorpion on the scene. It's going to be a wild season."

Crazy! (Who else wants Exposé to be a real show?)

What's to Come

What else is coming down the pike? We'll learn more about the differences between Miles and Hurley, who both commune with the dead. According to Eddy, "Hurley seems to actually see dead people, and Miles, he seems to only be able to listen or hear. I would say that they both have unique abilities, and that very question of how they differ may be explored by the end of the series."

Speaking of the dead, Eddy says their next script is the Feb. 11 ep. "Our next one is hour five, 'This Place Is Death.' It's intense, and we think people are going to really dig it." Adam: "It's too complicated to say who is centric, but in our minds, it will be more interesting to just see it cold."

Any theories on what Lost place, exactly, is so deadly? And are you OK with Tsunami joining the team, or do you still hate her for being one of Cobra's minions? Post in the comments!

The writer's dog being on a t-shirt isn't an Easter egg.

Mojo, you thought survivors would be unstuck in time as the island was unstuck in space? That would be an impressive call.

The writer's dog being on a t-shirt isn't an Easter egg.

Mojo, you thought survivors would be unstuck in time as the island was unstuck in space? That would be an impressive call.

It took some reflection, over time, but way back when Mikhail said he knew John Locke, in their first meeting. That sort of stuck in my head "The John Locke I remember..."

Then when Desmond had his time shifting episode, & then Farraday confirming it being more than just some weird dreams or whatever, I got a full belief that time travel had been put on the table as a legitimate plot device for the show, which I had already been considering a sci-fi show, ever since Eko got killed by a fist shaped cloud, & after Des' time episode I stopped trying to figure out how many days they'd been on the island, & what that time discrepancy with Farraday's watches was all about. It was a futile pursuit at that point, & I knew it

I just got a sneaking suspicion that time travel was about to happen in a big way, I just had no idea how they'd do it, or how big it would be

But when that island disappeared, & left nothing but ocean ripples, & Ben wound up in the Middle East, I knew those people were gone from time. In fact, the notion I had was that Locke would go back & meet Dharma during its peak days in the 70's, which would explain why Richard Alpert brought all those items to John as a child, which he got from Adult John, & then asked the kid "No John, which of these items are yours?". That line stuck in my head too

I just never knew how far they would go with this thing. I actually wasn't surprised when I saw Farraday talking with Halliwax/Wickmund or whatever his name is. that's sort of what I expected to happen. what surprised me was those Dharma people planning to chop Juliet's hand off. They are treating the Losties like the "Hostiles"

Think about it. If the Losties go back further into the past now, they will consider Dharma hostile, & will probably do some dirty things to them, which will be what prompts this reaction we saw, where chopping off her hand wasn't even negotiable

Dharma is already at war with the Losties by the time they threaten Juliet's hand, we just haven't seen what the Losties did to spark that, earlier in time

I'm still thinking about those flaming arrows though. I have to watch it again this weekend, but I think they might actually be in the future when that happens, & the people attacking them might be Richard Alpert's "Other's"

Those "Other's" I'm thinking, & have thought for a while now, are the crew of the "Black Rock", based solely on that one scene where little Ben talks with long haired Richard, & he is wearing what looks like pirate clothes

very insightful.

if the "others" are the crew of the Black Rock... how come Sexy Richard Alpert never "seems" to age.

we know people age on the island...cause we have seen Ben Age.

What are your thoughts on only the "losties" moving through time..
because everyone else was already there?

I don't think they are the only ones

I think that the effect that the Losties, & their new additions, are undergoing is probably somehow linked to the fact that Richard doesn't age. Somehow, different groups of people are existing in unique relationships with time, or even very similar relationships

It's possible that Richard & his people are undergoing the same exact phenomenon as the Losties are. Imagine if they had the same thing happening to them

As far as they are concerned, their group (Possibly the black Rock Crew) only just arrived on the island, within the past year or so, but because they might be shifting through time, they are popping up all though the island's history, looking the same age, just like the Losties

It's like Farraday's street analogy. The various groups are walking up & down the same street, but in different directions, or crossing it at different intersections & passing each other occassionally, & I think it's bigger than just the island, because Richard Alpert has been off the island a number of times. The shifting might stop when off the island. Hell, he might even have learned to control it

This might be why Ben needs to get Locke's body back to the island. Perhaps that might keep Locke in motion on the island, in a way that might be similar to why Jack's dad, Eko's brother, & Horace Goodspeed, are popping up on the island, even though they are all dead. Their bodies are still on the island, even though Christian shepard's was never seen. The casket was seen, & the body was on flight 815

What's confusing me, is that no time shifts were shown in the second part "The Lie" episode, & 3 time shifts were shown in the first part, the "Because You Left" episode. The 1st shift put them before the 815 crash. In fact Eko's yellow plane was crashing in that time. the 2nd one put them into a time after the hatch had imploded, & then the third shift, put them right back where the first one put them, but a tiny bit later, because the plane was up in the tree again, & the engine was still smoking, but Ethan was gone, & Farraday gets Desmond to come out of the hatch

No more time shifts shown after that, & the people who want to hack off Juliet's hand look like they are in Dharma uniforms, which would have to be waaaay earlier than Desmond's arrival on the island

So they must not be showing all the time shifts :idon'tknow:
