Ben never left until now. However Tom & Richard & Ethan have all been off for whatever reasons, & returned I wonder if Ben is helping Jack & the others to get back, but isn't planning on returning himself. Didn't he say something like "The person who moves the island can never come back"? Doesn't that mean that even if he knew how to get back, he couldn't?
