I think Ben says something like... "Picture a box. What if I told you that, somewhere on this island, there is a very large box and whatever you imagined, whatever you wanted to be in it when you opened that box, there it would be?" Well, there has been numerous examples of people seeing things that are specific to their own story, & likely something that they think about often, & in being so imagined, there is something that is manifesting those things, like Kate's horse, & Jack's dad, & Eko's brother Yemi. It may be connected to the mind reading black cloud monster, & it may all have to do with the the castaways being judged, like Eko was After all, that is what Eko told John before dying "You're next" That could mean John, or it could mean all of them

During the season two episode "The 23rd Psalm" Mr. Eko encountered the black cloud, & stared it down, like the badass he is, & the camera did a pull around shot, from within the cloud, & there were some kind of photo flashes, within it. Here's a youtube video I found, of that moment. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sp6R2U7AwYI When I watched that episode on DVD, I paused, & zoomed in on the flashes, & the flashes were little quick flashes of Eko's life in Africa. It was seeing Eko for the 1st time, & was somehow able to see images from his life At least that's what I think happened. Can you tell I'm obsessed?

Posts: 13,333 Group: Movie Era 10000 post spammer Member #1,478 Joined: November 14, 2007	Any info I get, comes from the Wikipedia site dedicated to just LOST stuff http://www.lostpedia.com/wiki/Main_Page It really is an informative site, both on stuff pertaining to the plot, & to stuff about the show, & crew/actors. I think I even saw photo excerpts from Ben's journal, on that site, & a big picture of the black lit map, on the hatch door. Really cool stuff, like that I don't really hang out at any Fan sites for the show, because there is a large portion of internet people who are fans of that show, who are completely insane. Far worse than any Trekkie has ever been. I think some of them must have internet access whilst in the institution Quote: If they are being judged, who is judging them ? I'm not exactly sure who is judging them, Bruce, but I can find no other reason for the turn of events that Eko went through, which brought about his death. He looked the image of his brother in the face, & admitted that he repents nothing in his life, & right after that, & he got creamed by a big fist shaped cloud thing! That whole event has turned the show on it's ear, for me It could be as simple as what Rouseau stated about the monster "It's a security system". It might just be a Dharma experiment designed to protect the island or its inhabitants from bad people. Whether someone is a good person or a bad one is the most important thing about this show, plot-wise. The abductees were all on a list of "Good" people. (Jacob's list) I guess even though Eko had originally been on the list to be abducted, (Ended up killing 2 of the Others) he ended up getting sentenced as a bad one, in the end Boy, that was a long post

If this security system is keeping people on the island and judging the bad people , spoiler below read at your own risk maybe thats why Jack so desperately wants to get back there ? were there people left behind ? Knowing that Jack likes to feel responsible for everyone he would feel pretty damn guilty if they had to leave people behind .

He said something like "What do you have to go back to?" I think Jack never felt more needed in all his life, as he did, on the island. He was a helper & a leader, & those things made him feel good about himself. He was never at a loss for "Something to fix". Jack with the beard had nothing to live for & when the mystery person's obituary shows up, (I think Ben) Jack finally gives up & plans his suicide, because he always somehow hoped that Ben could get them back there There may be no going back

I've been working under that assumption since the first season, when I first realized that many of them were better off having been left there A few of them have already come to that conclusion as well.
