Opening sequence - earliest flashback yet.

Forgot about the island. A bouncing bllet would have been cooler.

I always had a sneaking suspicion that the island was not necessarily in a fixed location

In fact there has been a long running theory that it's actually a vessel of some type, & that the stations were not buried into it, but rather, it was disguised as an island

I don't know if that's exactly how it will play out, but one thing is for sure. They will end up moving the island's location, or possibly even its place in time, which I've suspected, all season, is ahead of the rest of the world

Which explains why the freighter gets a Morse code message telling of the doctor's death, before he dies. They got a message from the future.

Sayid will likely be the one who evacuates the Oceanic Six. Michael still can't be killed, likely due to predestined events. Desmond was smart to not return to the island, if he ever intends be found by Penny

And Christian Shepard, Claire, & Charlie are all likely existing in some altered state, the same way that Richard Alpert does, & probably Jacob too, but that shit still makes no damn sense to me at all

interesting theory about the island being a disguise. Does that mean they planted that old ship with the dynamite? I think the flashbacks took Dharma back to john's birth anyway. And why was his birthmother's name locke if he was adopted? Have we met his mother before? or only his father?

and that was definitly not claire. Maybe some sort of entities taking the form of people who have died?

maybe sayid only gets one group off and they are the oceanic six and the people who remain on the island doen't do so by choce but because the island has been moved? :mojo:

Locke's mother introduced him to his father. She was originally played by Swoozie Kurtz

Plus, Locke's birth Flashback does not necessarily date Dharma back to his birth, just the Island & its original inhabitants, A.K.A "The Hostiles". Richard Alpert, who met Locke as a child, is likely one of the Hostiles. The Mittelos corp. on the other hand has been around as long as Locke's been alive though

Like I said, I don't know if the island will end up being a vessel. It's just an old theory. The Black Rock ship being there does tend to contradict that theory.

Another theory is that the Black Rock crew & the Hostiles are one in the same

I'm not sure yet why Locke has his birth name instead of an adopted one

well the father we know must be his biological father since he could donate his kidney.

And I've definitly seen that guy before. I just don't remember where.

If the island is all a disquise though I don't see a contradiction with the ship being there really. If they went to that much effort a little window dressing doesn't seem to unbelievable. And it was in a strange place for a shipwreck.

Yeah, well the Island's true nature is still a mystery to me, really :idon'tknow:

Richard Alpert. He is nearly a main character, at this point

He's been Living with the Others all this time. He recruited Juliet under the guise of the Mittelos Corp. He helped Ben orchestrate the "Purge". he's been on the island since Ben was a child, in his flashback (& likely before then)

& in every period we've ever seen him, he's been exactly the same age

Funny thing... The name Richard Alpert belonged to a real man, who became a famous spiritual Guru, named Baba Ram Dass. His birth Name was Richard Alpert. The LOST character must be an homage to him

I'm surprised you couldn't remember his character. He's been behind almost everything. He was the one who coerced Locke into getting Sawyer to kill his dad, Anthony Cooper, by giving him Sawyer's file, which made mention of the fact that Locke's dad was also the crook Sawyer was looking for

I think it would be cool if he were to end up being a member of the Black Rock crew :mojo:

Richard Alpert, in Ben's flashback, dressed very much like a pirate, possibly even the captain of the Black Rock, Magnus Hanso, who the blast door map claims is buried on the island

I'm not sure what to make of him. He seems to be connected to Penny's father, Charles Widmore. He helped choose Naomi, Daniel, Miles, Charlotte, & Frank to be on the team to find the island, & is stalking Hurly, in his flash forward

I think that helps my theory that there is some entity on the island that can take the form of people who are dead on the island.

jack's father
this guy
claire
charlie
the guy in locke's vision last night.

Charlie isn't being seen on the island, & Alpert has actually been seen doing more off the island than on it

If there is something like that going on, it extends far beyond the island. Plus, Charlie still seems like charlie to me :idon'tknow:

agreed. It would have to extend off the island. But charlie sounding like charlie doesn't mean it wasn't charlie. Just that it was advantageous for the entity to sound like charlie. So Hurly could warn jack and jack would believe it was his father. If you couldn't sell charlie to hurley then the message to jack would never be accepted

:idon'tknow: or maybe I'm full of crap

Now we know who is the mysterious stranger in the cabin! Who is this Christian? I was shock that Claire is involved with him! He had John to keep the secrets of what is going on. He wants him to move the island! How will they do that? :o
