Black thing in the pilot was declared by Abrams as being an accident and not meant to be part of the story. Sayid wasn't broken by Ben, he joined with Ben. From their convo, I think he is working for the survivors who are still on the island rather than the Oceanic 6. Hurley's "vision" would go with this interpretation. The reason you can't say he is broken is because Sayid is about to become the person who knows a lot about the people he is now killing. Michael and Walt are already off the island, so they could round out the Oceanic 6. Probably not as I think the guy in the coffin is Locke. Mojo, love the Kevlin theory. I've been waiting for him to reappear since they conveniently forgot about him after Desmond knocked him down. As far as the Locke's dad theory, Sawyer found the end of the lead he was on, so it would be coincidence if his actual target just happened to be in Australia at the same time Saywer was following some other lead.

It showed Kelvin found Desmond on the beach and then tricked Desmond to staying in the bunker while he fixed Desmond's boat. Desmond figured it out, followed Kelvin, supposedly killed Kelvin, making him late in entering the special code, and then the plane crashed.

One reason I think he is still alive is because the place where he & Desmond fought is "The Cove" where Kelvin was keeping the sailboat. That same location has been used a few other times. The one I remember the most is when Ana-Lucia, Eko, Libby, Bernard, & Cindy were hiking to the fuselage camp site, with Michael, Jin, & a gunshot Sawyer, in tow, & went out to that very same precipice, & decided to head inland, just before Cindy went missing. Kelvin's body was not there, or they'd have seen it, much like Goodwin's decayed corpse was found, & Ben's dad, Roger Linus' corpse was found, & Eko's brother & partner. Corpses have a weird way of turning up in this show. There's no way they'd just have characters show up to the same spot, & not show him dead there He was either moved, or left himself. That's a good point. I had forgotten that Sawyer's whole reason for being in Australia, was that he was on a lead provided by his old partner, Hibbs, (Robert Patrick) which turned out to be a setup. Hibbs just wanted to kill some guy, & lied to put Sawyer up to it.
