First, don't close Office 2007 anymore. When you save, you can try saving it as .doc instead of .docx. Microsoft changed with 2007 because OO was getting too close at recognizing all Microsoft's rules. I do fairly well with the .doc format. Unfortunately, the formatting will always be problematic between the two. The only sure thing on the formatting is pdf but you have to give up editing ability.
