Saw Up In The Air with George Clooney (he's in the film, I didn't go to the cinema with him). Good but depressing. Masquerades as a rom-com but is actually kind of bleak.

lience to kill

dalton's second & last go as bond. due to legal issues, the next bond movie wouldn't be until 1995.

so-so movie. not even much of a popcorn muncher. IMHO.
FYI this is the last movie were bond smoked cigarettes.
i recall a lot of stink was raised over him smoking & if you
wach the credits al the way through (or just fast-forward) you'll
see the surgeon general's warning about smoking at the end.

Watched Tangled the other night - it's so funny. Maximus has to be one of the best fictious Horses ever to grace our screens! Love him!

My wife loves that film, "Tangled". That would beg the question, Lus. Who is your favorite fictional horse? I'd list Shadowfax, but I always think of Boxer from "Animal Farm" first.

That's a tough one but I think it has to be Pilgram from "The Horse Whisperer" He, I think, represents how fragile the trust between Horse & Human can be but also how strong it can be when time is taken to build that bond & how that bond can survive even the most traumatic situation life can throw at you. The fact that he goes to such lengths at the beginning of the film to protect his owner shows how much trust & love you can share with your Horse.

Suspicion ~ I really liked it, except the end seemed a bit... odd.

I don't know why Cary Grant didn't play more villain (ish) characters, he's quite good at it.

Gnomeo and Juliet. I never planned on seeing it, but needed something "cool" and gnome-related, so I watched it and it was pretty decent.

probably the studio or his "people" thought
it would ruin his image & therefore his box office appeal

waking sleeping beauty.

it's a documentary about the comeback of disney animation in the late
'80s & early '90s. even if you're not a disney fan, it's an interesting look
at some of the....mind set, i suppose of the suits & various behind the scenes
people at the company.

most likely. I heard that they had to change the ending of Suspicion from the book because the studio wouldn't let him play a murderer.

To Catch A Thief ~ I found Grace Kelly tiresome, though not as much as I did in Rear Window. Other than her, it was pretty good. But I didn't think there were enough clues as to who the real thief was. You couldn't have any fun trying to figure it out.

Rebecca ~ Good, though I thought Joan Fontaine overracted quite a bit. Which is weird, since she was so good in Suspicion, which was a similar character and only one year later.

saw two movies this weekend

Transformers, dark side of the moon.

I just thought this was lame in the same way the rest of them were. Minimal plot setup then mindless battle. Even the kids got bored

Captain America. It was all right. At least the kids stayed interested. And we liked the Stark enterprises tie in.

The Marvel films do a really good job meshing their films together
