Yes, I remember, of course (also, Madam will remind me nearer the date !!). Just accessed the McDonald's website for UK-based outlets, and it's still called a quarter pounder with cheese. (The metric system isn't compulsory in the UK yet, however, and still use Imperial.) |

The A-team Had a hard time following the action scenes, which is kinda the whole point of the movie. It is definitly big on attitude and style, short on actual content. But worse case scenario you have to look at Bradley Cooper for 2 hours. He's purdy. |

Romeo and Juliet (the DiCaprio) version. I didnt see it when it came out... and most of the people I knew hated it. I thought it was pretty darn good! Leo was just like I remember him from the posters on my bed room wall. Straight out of Tiger beat! ![]() It kept true to Shakespeare.. the modern twist worked out great. Guns instead of swords. In some parts.. mostly with the Capulet boys.. I have no idea what they were saying... but thats all the Shakespeare verbiage |

"Saiyūki (Monkey Magic)" 2007 This is all kinds of awesome if you remember the TV series from the 70s. Rather than go the American way and bore you for 15 minutes with an origin you already knew, this movie assumes you're already a fan and doesn't care if you're not. Monkey and pals are asked by a princess to help free her kingdom from two demons (Goldern Horn & Silver Horn). Needless to say she hasn't told them everything, but being led by a holy fool they are dragged into it. Their journey to the demon's mountain top lair is full of gags and stunts, and I don't want to tell you too much. It plays out like an extra long episode, but doesn't drag the way other TV adaptions have. Simply put, if you're a fan you'll love this... And if you've never seen the old TV series, this won't strain you too much. |

I watched K-Pax tonight. Its one of Mrs Crane's favorite movies for all the loons in the psychiatric institute. she always says jokingly that she relates well to those crazies, and she calls them her peeps. I always enjoyed the intricacies of this movie as well as the challenge for the doctor to figure everything out about the patient on his own with very little help from him, in helping him cope with the terrible tragedy he suffered, that the doctor himself is forced to experience second and third hand. Also the intricacies of the psychosis and how closely they translate into the patient and leave them all the possibilities of it actually being the truth, and who well the other patients related with him more than the staff that was supposed to be helping them. All in all, I always find it an interesting story of what the mind will manufacture in its most desperate times of need, and also enjoy the sense of interpretation that the movie leaves you with |

Escanaba in da Moonlight A Jeff Daniels movie about the only "yooper that hasn't bagged a buck". He's part of a great family heritage of hunters in Michigan but brings shame to himself and his family because he's 43 and hasn't bagged a buck yet. This is a story about how things may or may not change for him on this hunting trip. Funny and lots of fun. I love just about everything Jeff Daniels does, including this. Fetishes: A documentary about a fetish house in Manhattan. Some guy hangs out for a couple of months with dominatrices and watches them employ their trade. Interesting. A Room in Rome: My wife and I thought this would be a good erotic film to watch. Instead it's a Lifetime movie with lots and lots of bare tits and ass. The girls are hot, but everything is, well it's a just like a lifetime movie. Lame. All available on Netflix. |

Black Swan: Not as good as I was hoping. I guess it got hyped up too much. It was alright, but a) it was just too disturbing/gory for me to really enjoy, and b) the dialogue was awful. But I think Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis did really well with the crap script they were given. The whole thing really just fell flat. There was no impact anwhere. And the 'mystery' as to what really happened at the end wasn't interesting because it didn't have two options that you could weigh up and decide which fit best (like in Inception.) It tried to have a mysterious ending and just failed because the answer was Spoiler: click to toggle Also saw No Strings Attached. It just wasn't funny. At all. |

Social Network Good movie. Kinda slow but then a movie about a web site really couldn't be much different. I think the creator of facebook came accross as the winner of some lawsuits that didn't have a lot of merit. The fighter another great movie with some wacky characters. Oscars were deserved by the people who won them. Can see why Mark Wahlburg didn't win his category. His character was a little flat compared to his wacky family. Amazing story though. |

The Adjustment Bureau Loved it! Sci-Fi style thriller mixed with a large dollop of good old fashioned romance. Reminded me a lot of another of my favourite films, Eternal Sunshine Of A Spotless Mind. Some very good performances, artsy, a great pace, and always interesting.... deffo my favourite film i've seen in a good while! |
