Geena Davis is a govt assassin who's lost her memory, Samuel L. Jackson is the hustler trying to help her and Patrick Malahide the CIA boss trying to kill her while trying to bring about a 'fund-raising event' by killing 4000 innocent civilians, and blaming the Muslims. (sound familiar ??) Plenty of action keeps the movie chugging along, and Davis shows she can do action movies. *****
Ah, so that's what spock does all day!
I've seen this movie a few times, and besides it was on in the background while I was doing other stuff.
U-huh? :wissa:

Live long and prosper.....!!

In a post-apocalyptic, Orwellian-style future, everybody is infertile for some reason (I must have missed the reason). And that's about it, ok throw in lots of gunfire and explosions from the 'uprising' when they finally get around to it, and the deportation of 'illegal immigrants' (basically, anybody they want to deport), and this overlong (2hr+) movie finally grinds to a halt with the birth of a baby (yay !!). Am sure you can find something far more rewarding to do with the time (I did the cleaning, while it played in the background). Rated for effort only. **

The Tunnel Dwellers of New York

It was a short documentary about Homeless people living under the streets of New York City. Wow!! I will think differently when I walk down 7th and 55th again.

They made a movie a long time ago about those very same people.

We were just getting into that movie, and it ended. :/

Seen a couple of progs about tunnel dwellers, generally they seem ok just fallen on hard times, and about some who have rebuilt their lives and do what they can to help others who live like that.

Chicago

I really enjoyed this movie! Especially since we have been studying the Jazz Age in my home (we learn a lot together)
It centers around two criminals-of-passion. There is lots of signing and dancing... but I liked the Musical numbers
I didnt enjoy Richard Geres singing voice... Im sure it wasnt actually him.. but it seemed out of place to me.
I found the use of a shiny red handkerchief as the death wound awesome!

Shrek 3: cute twist on the whole franchise. I really liked that it didn't turn into a show about babies. Worth a watch if you like the series. Though still nothing as good as the first one (it is #3 isn't it)

The Town Really enjoyed this one. The tension at times was almost nbearable. Ben Afflick continues to be a revelation. He both directs and stars in this. Boston is beautiful in it.

liked that one, hated the "cliffhanger" at the end.
but that gets answered near the start of clear & present danger

The Green Hornet

I loved it.
was seth rogan the best choice... Im not sure.. the kid who plays Kato was effing awesome! and so was the car.

I know the green hornet was supposed to be more serious.. and they deliberately mad it a little bit more of a comedy.. but it worked for me

Oh, now I got to get Clear and Present Danger! I hate those cliffhangers, like the last episode of Magnum PI!

Did anyone review 'The Black Swan?'

It is one of those movies I cannot recommend because it is disturbing by nature. I have no idea if someone else would (like/enjoy)..do not seem like the right words. If you need to leave the theater feeling uplifted this is not the movie for you. If you love deep, dark movies than this is for you.

I loved seeing little Jackie in it from 'The 70's Show'...Mila Kunis! What a great beauty she has developed into.

I don't know what else to say.

I do not think Natalie Portman had fun making this film. I do think it helped stretch her range, let her grow in a cerebral sense.....and that was probably a wonderful trade-off for developing her craft. I don't know.

I guess I'm still disturbed.... :idon'tknow:

And....the kids!

There can be only one

Natalie Portman is popping up everywhere lately and really seems to be showing she has a wide range.
The unambiguous and defined essence of a truest friend, is a single soul, shared in two bodies. A person who completes you so, that it pains you when they hurt, and sustains you when they are with you, no matter how far.

What really threw me was reading after I had seen the film that one particular, desperate character was Winona Ryder.

I had no idea. The girl fooled me..... :o

Yeah, I know. But it's a good movie to vegetate in front of, when you don't have the energy to do anything else. Besides, I like it, and it has 'twice' Knightly in it !! *****

Nine to Five and Groundhog Day

This would be about the millionth time I've watched them and they're just as awesome every time.

Bits that never fail to crack me up every time:

Violet, did you get my memo?
Yes Roz, I tore right through it!

I'm gonna lose my job!
You don't know that!
I've killed the boss, you think they're not gonna fire me for a thing like that!

and

*Phil drives car over the cliff*
He could be ok.
*car bursts into flames*
Well... no. Probably not now.
