Frost/Nixon - fascinating account of the famous David Frost - Richard Nixon interview... despite always going to be on rails and predictable given the material, it's brilliantly acted and remains interesting and gripping throughout. Quite surprised at how likeable Nixon was portrayed too... ****

Kamikaze Girls - watched this again yesterday, and still really love it.... packed to the gills with Japanese weirdness, and with a plot dealing with the gothic lolita dress craze and girl biker gangs, it's really well written and very funny to boot (especially so if you understand the cultural depictions), and it's theme of friendship is rather heartwarming. One of my favourites! *****

Terminator Salvation - Actually enjoyed this a lot more than i thought i would, especially considering the disaster of a film that was Rise Of The Machines. Perhaps felt a bit rushed at times though. Loved the bit where they showed the T-800 with the Arnie face, as that was kinda bugging me since all the Terminator spinoffs..... was very pleased with how it was handled. Good fun! ****

Robin Hood, with Russel Crowe. Just wasn't all that good, tying to make Robin Hood into William Wallace. Cate Blanchett was fair enough as a tough & pissy Marion, I guess, nothing special. The supporting cast was just sort of there, as if there was a checklist to make sure they didn't miss anyone. Friar Tuck, check. Little John, check. Will Scarlet, check, Sheriff of Nottingham, check, but none of them were given any real character to play, nor were they even worth anything to the story, which is somewhat of a redeveloping of Robin hood's beginnings

& Russel Crowe was seemingly just going through the motions. Sometimes I wonder if the guy has any acting range at all. His eyes just look dead to me most often, & I really wonder if he had a character who was suppose to be joyful, wtf he'd do

A plot that is so bungled, that even the director's cut doesn't fix it. So lame compared to Gladiator

An excellent and heartwarming movie, also a warning of over-dependence in automation, as well as the problems of not recycling. *****

While America tests it's first atomic bomb, Harrison Ford shows he can still cut it as Indy against Cate Blanchett's Russians on the trail of alien technology. *****

Yes, I liked this one myself as well - did a lot better job than T3 in keeping the story interesting.

In fact thanks for reminding me - Im going to give it another watch.

Me and the little one watched Charlottes web today. Its a tragic story about some bacon that never makes it to the smokehouse because of a meddling spider. But she gets whats coming to her in the end!

A Beautiful Mind was a great film
The unambiguous and defined essence of a truest friend, is a single soul, shared in two bodies. A person who completes you so, that it pains you when they hurt, and sustains you when they are with you, no matter how far.

that reminds me;
not long ago i saw raiders of the lost ark: the adaption
a nearly shot-for-shot fan film that 3 boys did in the 1980s.

the film wasn't the best quality (think a VHS tape going to crap)
but they did real well consider they weren't actors or film makers
of any kind. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0772251/

I think it's great that Spielberg is making a movie of the kids making a movie of Raiders. And as the saying goes, 'from little acorns......' I hope these kids make a name for themselves, they deserve it!

Mulder and Scully are back at the FBI, and on the trail of a missing agent. Billy Connolly's psychic paedophile priest sends them after a bunch of Eastern Europeans who abduct people, and conduct gruesome experiments on them. I was never really a fan of the X Files, but sometimes they were interesting. ****

Alaska with Dirk Benedict and Charlton Heston. Not a bad movie about a couple kids that search the wild frontiers of Alaska(which is obviously shot in both Tofino and Garibaldi Park of British Columbia), for their father who crashed his viper.....I mean Piper Cub into a mountain.
