TR2N LEGACY:

Welll I wanted to know why they never made reference to the TRON character in the trailers - now I know why and it was a good reason. Very well done pickup after the original, though it did suffer a little bit from what I call the Spielberg Syndrome....where it goes so deep into making sure everyone understands everything, that things run a little long, and then suddenly you realize that you have to wrap up the movie, and still havent figured out a logical way to deal with the antagonist, so you have to throw on a magical way, that if he had that ability, he really could have done it at any time.

The only problem was one character transformation

Otherwise, Fantastic film, nicely done, and I cant wait to get it home. the IMAX and 3D were stunning

It's a Trap! Not as good as Blue Harvest and definitely not as good as Something Something Something Darkside, but still well put together.
I agree. The first two were so good, but this last one was just a major disappointment.

Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader:

Loved it! Kept as close as was reasonable to the book, which was good because Dawn Treader's my favourite and I was worried that they'd kill it. Only complaint is that a) they changed the voice actor for Reepicheep and consequently ruined him and b) Eustace (or Useless as I prefer to call him) was far more annoying and useless in the movie than in the book, which I wish they hadn't done because if the make Silver Chair and Last Battle he's just going to be unbearable. Also wish they'd kept Caspian's Spanish accent, but meh, not too big of a deal.

Tron Legacy:

2d characters, poor dialogue, weak acting (and over-acting) and a plot that seemed to have no direction or flow (but maybe that's just me because I have seen the original)

The CG visuals and Olivia Wilde were the only things worth watching.
And that crazy club owner dude was funny. But other than that, waste of money. Wish I'd seen Dawn Treader or Deathly Hallows again instead.

We saw three recently.

The A-Team:

Lots of fun and really enjoyed it. It received lots of hate from the critics so of course I loved it.

Harry Potter: DH Pt. 1:

Mmmm...Okay. Was a little dark for the kids (as they have been trending). It was reallly looooong with period when the story just seemed to not advance much, if at all.

I'll buy it, why, because I have the others.

A Christmas Cottage:

We enjoyed that. A movie about Thomas Kinkade. Saw it on Netflix this morning. My son said it touched his heart. And it was a heart warming story. A little corny at times but good overall.

Peter O'Toole is in it and gives a really good performance.

Afterward I did a little googling. I didn't realize that there was so much animosity towards the man. One writer even said that the only reason I liked his artwork was because I was brainwashed. Not because there was a difference in taste. Meh.

Watch it. It's good.

And now we are about to watch Twilight Eclipse. Go Jacob!

...........................

The Other Guys: Meh, it had some laughs, & some embarrassing moments, & some stuff that could have been dumped

The Town: Good, not great, but engaging, although I'm beginning to tire of movies set in Boston, so actors can dust off their Southie accent

Salt: Action Packed, but not all that good, & the action is ridiculously unrealistic. A hackneyed attempt to capture some Bourne mojo, that falls short of its mark, & then throws in a catch ending, that is an obvious attempt to set up sequels. It's bad form to blatantly push for a sequel in the first film, & is only marginally tolerable when they do it in comic book hero movies. Here it was just insulting

Inception: I liked it, & it deserves whatever praise it's been getting, because it's smart, & excellently made. Somehow though, I think I was expecting more. I mean it didn't take me long to predict the end gag. I mean lets face it
Spoiler: click to toggle

But it is still one of the better movies of the year

Just saw this last night.

I havent read Dawn Treader in a very long time.... but I thought Eustace was really good... I really wanted to slap that kid.
and at the end... when he was a changed boy... I could see how much he was over acting before.. I think he will do fine.
by the end.. he had already toned down that horrible whiny voice of his... and relaxed his horribly pinched face!

I cried when Eustace cried. as a dragon and as a boy

I thought the actor did alright, but there was just something too whiny and annoying about him that made it impossible for me to like him or believe the 'change' whereas I didn't have that problem in the book.

I cried (a lot more than I though I would) at the end when Aslan tells Edmund and Lucy they can't come back to Narnia. :crying:

Hopefully if the make Silver Chair/Last Battle I'll start to like movie Eustace better...just so far he's more unlikeable than in the book.

I never liked Edmund at first (movie and book) and he grew on me so maybe the same thing will happen with Eustace.

I thought Inception was very well done - loved the whole concept and time lag idea of an insertion within an insertion within an insertion

The Other Guys

I'm really not a Will Farrell fan but he was ok in this one. Mildly amusing. I wouldn't seek it out but it's not a bad watch if you don't have anything else to do.

Inception

Well, I didn't think it lived up to it's hype. The dream levels got kind of repetative. And it started to drag.

A Chris Rock documentray about relaxer and weaves. Most people found it to be mehish. I watched it on a day when it wasn't such a good day and it made me laugh. Makes me glad that I don't have to go to extremes of pressing and relaxing or wearing someone elses hair sewn into my scalp.
